A carnivorous plant, a copy of a MOC seen on the LEGO Roadshow.
About this creation
A man-eating plant - I call her Audry II.

This is a copy of a Master Builder model that was touring with the LEGO Roadshow. I could only find three pictures of it on-line (including the one I took) so reconstructing it proved challenging. I also placed upon myself the restriction of only using the parts from LEGO designer sets, as that was what the Roadshow was all about, and presumably what the Master Builder was using.

If you're interested, here is the inspiration picture I took:

All in all I believe it to be possible to build this MOC with two or three Wild Creatures sets, along with a few parts from the smaller robot set.

This is basically the pose I had to work with from the inspiration pictures. I've edited the overall design a bit to suit my own tastes, but only after faithfully recreating the original as best I could. Such changes include more sculpted 'dirt' and teeth on the upper jaw.

A side view. You'd think the click hinges would buckle under the weight of the mouth, but it holds well.

   Feed me, Seymour!

The pot was the most difficult challenge of this build. Not only does it look pretty good, but it's really very stable and, for the most part, sturdy.

The not so pretty underside of the pot. I used 1x4 hinge plates to achieve the angled walls of the pot, really not all that earth-shattering.

That is cool! I actually know exactly how it's built 'cause I have this DVD that has instructions for it. That's not how the pot was made, but it's still cool! 5/5!

This is very cool. I like carnivorous plants and never thought of making some out of legos. I like the way you made the pot
