Space Marine Dropship: Hellhammer Class
The Hellhammer class Dropship is designed to deploy a small group of elite Space Marines behind enemy lines. It releases the drop pod in low altitude and takes off to give air support if necessary. The dropship can also carry different types of ground vehicles or supply containers. Sorry about the blurry photos...
About this creation

Back view with the drop pod attached under the fuselage.

Canopy opens. The pilot up front and the navigator/gunner in the back.

The Hellhammer is heavily armed with four wing-mounted bombs and two missiles.

The drop pod.

Four seats and a weapon rack. It is equipped with landing thrusters.

Battle-hardened Space Marines. Hadn't enough camo torsos to create number four...

Drop pod released.

The mechanism is quite simple: the tail pulls back to release the pod...

...and a rubber band pulls it back in place.

Bonus shot: The Insectoids. Found them in a box in the garage. Maybe the theme for my next MOC, the Space Marines need some butt to kick!

Thanks for watching...

Loving this. As some of the comments (and your replies) state, there's certainly elements of Slave 1 in there, but what i really like is the actual playable features you included. The dark green colour is great and I'd love to see it in opposition to something with those insectoids! Well done, and thanks for the comment too.

By far one of the best dropship designs. Most of them are just ugly behemoths, but yours gives a good idea what "hit and run" means. And it doesn't just LOOK awesome - there are so many cool features in here that the thought you might have to disassemble it some day makes me want to cry. Seriously, great job!

This thing is the greatest ship I've seen in awhile. I've been tooling around with dropship ideas and your pod and ship shape really inspired me to put the ship closer to the top of my "to build" list.
