Millennium Falcon - FINAL
ITS DONE ITS DONE ITS DONE ITS DONE ITS DONE!
About this creation
After SIX MONTHS I have finally finished it! My Millennium Falcon has tons of interior detail and exterior greeblies. It began life as a stock LEGO Millennium Falcon, but COMPLETELY redone. It includes everything from the freight rooms to the cockpit controls. It is actual minifig scale, like LEGO's UCS Millennium Falcon. And without further delay, here it is.

Here's a back view of it. Making the back hull was one of the hardest parts of the ship.

A front shot.

The engine is made of solid blue pieces because I didn't have any trans-blue.

The overall profile is a little off, but it's good enough.

The greeblies on the side also took me a while to make.

Here's some of the many greebles on the Falcon.

Here's a partial view of the back half of the ship.

I based the exhaust circles off of LEGO's UCS Falcon.

Unlike the pitiful little tails on the original Falcon, these are full-sized.

Here's more greeblies.

An overall picture of the back half of the hull.

Here's the greeblies on the middle section of the body.

I'm not necessarily satisfied with the docking rings.

But it is at least better than LEGO's.

Here's the other greeblies on the middle part of the hull.

The turret was one of the best features of my Millennium Falcon. It can rotate, and angle up. I'll show you the interior of the turret tube later.

The radar dish was also one of the awesome features on my Falcon.

The back of the dish wasn't to my high standard ;), but it did the trick.

The pipelines add a very nice effect to the hull to give it a messy appearance.

Here's another pipeline.

The greebles in the maintenance pits took a long time to make.

Yet another pipe thingy.

The right mandible's greebles.

And the cockpit. I scrapped that junky cockpit from the original Falcon and made a complete overhaul. The only thing left is the window.

The lights on the front look really cool.

Nothing different here.

I was a bit rushed on the left mandible's greebles, so this doesn't have the quality of the other one.

I based this generator thing off of LEGO's UCS Millennium Falcon.

More detail...

Now on to the interior.

The holo-table was from the original Falcon.

Here's an engineering station.

Here's all the little compartments in the Falcon. By coincidence I had the exact same shade of teal for one of the drawers.

The big heavy-duty blaster, as shown in the Incredible Cross Sections.

The little engineering closet shown in Episode IV

The little openings for the cargo loading room aren't big enough for a minifig to walk through (due the the appearance of the outside hull). Is this accurate or not?

Yes, there is an ACTUAL CORRIDOR going to the cockpit.

Due to my extensive modifications, the cockpit can hold four minifigs.

The VERY DETAILED controls.

Here's a random pic of the covering for the corridor to the cockpit.

And now on to the back part of the interior. Here's on the various corridors.

That corridor leads past the opening to the turret and the corridor to the boarding ramp.

Here's a (very dark) picture of one of the other corridors.

Here's one of my favorite rooms: the bedroom.

There are little compartments for weapons, clothes, etc. As shown in the ICS.

Here's Han Solo laying in one of the beds.

A closeup of the freight elevator (with controls)

Here's a view of one of many cargo holds in the Millennium Falcon. It just holds your typical smuggled cargo: warheads, heavy-duty blasters, and priceless treasure.

The hyperdrive may be the most imprortant part of the Falcon, but I did a pretty pathetic job on it. Oh well...

Here's a picture viewing the corridor leading to one of the docking rings.

And now here's a pic of the turret chairs.

And here's the bottom turret controls. It's that orange chair way down there.

And last but not least, here is our faithful old crew.

I like how you made this more functional and accurate to the movie(s). The proportions make it seem very oval and the mandibles are quite short though. It is good to see the inside roomier esp. the cockpit and passage that leads to it.

It's very impressive, i like the greebles, the size and the interior, but it has few problems: too long, it has a few gaps, the cockpit is blocky, the two things at the front is too short, but other than that, great job!

the best starwars ship on the moc pages! keep it up check out my mocs!
  July 10, 2010
The ship is too long, otherwise it would've earned a 4/5. Also, there aren't enough greeblings. Is a limited amount of pieces to blame?

Thanks for your comment on my X-Wing :) 5/5 goes to this one... I love how the model feels like a working ship, and not just a round hull with a cockpit attached to it. If I absolutely had to make one complaint about this detailed and excellent model it would be.. get some transparent blue bricks for that engine... you spent 6 months on this, now go make it perfect ;D

This is very good for you own version of the falcon, details are correct and the inside is well done. What I do with my water slide decals is first i print my design, let it dry for a couple hours, seal it with krylon acrylic spray, wait till tommorow. Then I dip the decal in water, slide it onto the minifig body part, for more complex designs i reccomend a decal softener, and you have to let the decals dry for about six hours. if you want the fig to be shiny, spray some acrylic sealant and let that dry for a couple hours then you can put your fig together. I hope that helped : ).

Really great work! I love how (in a complimentary way) junky this looks, just like the real thing! The inside is great, too! I can tell you worked really hard on this! I am, however, going to give you old news. It's a bit boxy! But if it wasn't, there wouldn't be so many interior details now, would there? Thanks for your comment, too. I checked out your Falcon, will you check out mine? It's actually the Blue Falcon from F-Zero.

First, thanks for your comments on my BARC and AAT. I will try to post better pics of the BARC; I may even tweek it a little...Anyway, on to your creation. First, I love the detail and it's obvious the amount of time you devoted to planning and building it. I especially like the stage by stage aspect of the build and your willingness to share the process with us. As for the dimensions of the ship, I think it could be tweeked here and there, but that might mess with the integrity of what you have going on inside. I agree with the earlier guy, sit on it for awhile. You've put so much time into it that your probably pretty attached to it. By removing yourself from it, you can come back later with fresh eyes and new ideas. Overall I think you did great and should be proud!

First of all: thanks for calling me a great builder! This thing is huge! Really impressive. There is plenty of greebles and the best thing is that you've made an interior! Unlike the UCS Millennium. My favourite part from the interior are the beds, that's really original. My favourite part of the exterior is the turret, that one has a clever design. ~M

Wow, this thing is huge. Very easy to understand why it took six months. I noticed that there are parts here and there that you are not satisfied with. I'd recommend taking a break from it, go do something else for a week; then come back to it with some fresh ideas. Or, take a week, then do some browsing looking at other Lego ships and stuff for little ideas for greebling, interior details, how to make those bits a little better. There is a group on MOCpages where you could post this, and ask for input from some of the best builders on MOCpages about little tweeks here and there. Ok, the proportions are a little off, but I would like to see people who consider that a drawback to this MOC put their Lego where their mouth is; Let's see them put six months into any project! I think this is a grand MOC. And, I agree that it could stand some tweaking. I see interior sections that look blank, and I think you would have a lot of fun throwing some detail in there. When I do interiors, I go spider-monkey crazy with the details. That is why I do not do interiors so much these days, because it really eats into my Lego collection and I do not have as much as I would like in terms of parts for interior details. As for the exterior, you got some nice greebling, but I think the sheer size of the SHIP makes it difficult to get the greebles on the hull to stand out. At the moment, I can not think of anything better, but I do see how the hull greebles do not stand out as good as they should because of the size of the ship. If they got more attention, it would really make them worth while. I hope some of this makes sense. I will send you an invite to the group I mentioned.

Large minifigscaleships are very hard to do that they would look good inside and outside as well- i'm doing Twilight freighter from Clone Wars just now- and i have thought of doing falcon also- if i do this is definitely inpiration for that- very good work- i love the interior and all those details in hull hyperdrive is good also and that bed and cargoholds- dejariktable could be better but that is official so not bad at all- Possibly best minifigscale falcon here! This is very very nice, at first i was going to say that its to wide or somethin then i saw it was better then i was seeing, in the end the only thing i found to correct was the wings in the front(what ever u call em) r to short, beside that this is awsome, nice work, btw have u seen my gray star destroyer?

A very nice job! The only criticism I would have is that the mandibles are not quite long enough compared to the rest of the ship, but otherwise this model is true to the films exactly!

A beautiful custom Falcon. Not totally accurate for the shape, as you said yourself, but there's a lot of nice ideas and details. The interior is just great. Very nice work !

WOW!! It actually came out a little better than I thought it would. The shape is a little off and I think you could've did better with the corridors but you can easily tell it the Falcon just by looking at it, which is the most impportant thing! Good Job!

Yes, the sides need to be more rounded but this is a very nice Falcon! Better than I could do probably. Also, the front thingies are to short. ANYWAY, sweetness.

Okay, I am impressed. This is one of the most accurate interior design i've ever seen. And to top things off, it's your own, custom base design. I don't think i saw it, but you should have made one of those floor hide-outs on the inside of the falcon (y'know, from episode 4; But if it is There, and i just missed it , sorry) A 5/5 from me. Great!

Wow. After 6 months, it's nice to see that you've finally finished this thing, after like what 10 journals, (and plenty of orders from cracklink I'm sure...). Love all the little details and hope to see this in your comic soon!

Not bad, but it looked better in the construction journals. I mean, the hull looks like it was just stuck on real fast without much thought. You should've spent some more time on the smaller details. The shape isn't right either. It is wide enough, bit it is too long. The part between the two sides i the front is too long. The cockpit doesn't look good, it looks too blocky. If I were you, I would've stuck with the stock Falcon cockpit. The Interior is really the only thing saving this from a 3/5. It's very nice and accurate, and minifig compatible. Well, I hope I wasn't coming across as too harsh. I do like your Falcon, and I appreciate all the work you put into it, but it needs more work.
