My first Izzo-Style mecha, built with no reference to any of his works. Also includes my first frame design.
About this creation
The HMAS-MOD.01 "Eteocles" (Humanoid Mobile Armor Suit, Multiple Operational Directive, Type 1) is the first humanoid mecha developed by CFS' workshops. It is remotely piloted, and magnifies the capabilities of the wearer. Multi-angle joints are used to give the mech's body flexibility equal to that of a normal humans, and complex actuators and hydraulics are involved in coordinating it's movements. It is also equipped with minor boost functionality.
The primary weapon is the MRA-DNAR-TRB.12 "Bertrand" (Mid-Range All-purpose, Defense Negating Assault Rifle, Tipping Recoil-reducing Bolt, Type 12) is an all-range, multirole assault rifle designed to fire 42mm rounds. It is a bullpup-style rifle, utilizing advanced internal mechanics to tip recoil down into the buttstock. This process keeps the rifle steady and increases aim precision while in fully automatic mode. The long barrel length allows the weapon to be used for sniping, to a somewhat less effective degree than a regular sniper rifle. It is also fully suppressed. The "Bertrand" fires high explosive anti armor rounds that utilize internal shaped explosive charges to literally break the armor of opponents (hence the words: Defense Negating).
Statistics:
Max Groundspeed: 120k/ph
Max Boosting Velocity: 220k/ph
Max Terminal Boosting Velocity: 270k/ph
Armor Density: 916j/cm
Fuel: 200 hours continuous operation
The one-handed handstand is a more dynamic take on similar poses done by Phong's mechs.
The Eteocles is extremely flexible, and has more or less a human-proportioned frame design, which (due to requests) has been posted below.

The humanoid shape of this is very cool and the one armed hand stand?? Are you kidding me?? Nice work on the coloring, with all those tiny parts coloring could have gotten out of hand very quickly!
Thanks, the colors were a little tricky but I'm quite happy with how they turned out in the end. The 1-handed handstand is Phong's idea originally, so give him credit where due. |

Already saw this on flickr. Pretty neat mech, it is more similar to Evangelion proportion-wise.
This has two main causes: EVA units are similarly proportioned to humans, and I was watching NGE as I built this. Apparently the raised shoulders aren't the only tell-mark :)Thanks, both for your words here and for getting me interested in the series. BTW, my Perfect Platinum edition arrived, somewhat belatedly... and it's awesome. |

Pretty sick. Not really Izzo-Style, but Toboner-Style! Also, I love the one-armed trend I started!
Heh... I just had to see if I could do it 'better'... and also thought that you'd bug me about it if it couldn't. Also, thanks Rags! |

Looks good, it suits your style well and has a nice, cohesive look. I like how well all the various angles and oddly placed pieces work together to give it a unique shape. |
