Diorama scale Star Wars
Have recently been building Star Wars vehicles in a diorama scale as the store bought ones require too much space to display at their current size. Can't imagine how much room I'd need to build at this scale. Anyway I've squeezed in what detail the limits allow and there are some tight fits believe me. I started with Slave 1, one of the best designs I feel ever, followed by the X-Wing..one of my favourites. I also have produced the Y-Wing and just started the TIE Fighter with most of the solar panel issues solved but I need more Lego. Please enjoy and comment.
About this creation

Finally Photographed the Y-Wing. Wookiepedia describes the Y's as having their body panels removed due to the nature of them to break down a lot. This was to provide easy access during battle for repairs. My Diorama scale version has panels on, hence the differences from legos excellent rendition with all its greebs.

Will post more on this one soon.

I put this one up as I was pipped to the post by Lino M's wicked rendition on Flickr.
The computer version is in Ralph Maquarrie white but the real one will probably end up red. I would love to do this baby in orange though...ooohh Orange.

Well I had a scour around re-arranged som older mocs and came up with the parts to make the Twin Pod....in white. Sorry about the dirty photos but I'm well chuffed with this one so I rushed. I've been carrying this around all day like a 4 year old because as soon as I finished it the In laws came around and I never got that good sit back and ahh yes thing at the end of building this morning. I modified the back end spoilers to be bigger and bendy for playability and added the landing gear as a non retractable element as they don't hurt the look at all. Also the figures for now are the rebel troops with the new hoth trooper goggles replacing the black visor. Anyone who works at lego ...Can you kit this for me in orange and pass it on.

Honestly, I like the look of these lil' guys better than the full size models. Very clean and I can tell just by looking also very swooshable. I like building small ships myself so I may be biased towards these. Less can certainly be more and in my opinion I find these to be a perfect example of that mantra. Like the GZA said " make it brief son, half short and twice strong" !!!!

Neat! A lot of these have mush more accurate sizes, and look crisper and more clean to boot. Nice work!

I do agree about Slave 1 Sput N!k, but to hold it in your hand is a joy...it's so cute.
Quoting Sput N!k I can't say I approve of the teeny Slave I, (considerin' I like it bigger) but I'll be darned if those ain't the sleekest lookin' designs I've ever seen!
