This is my opinion of personal Clone Commanders.
About this creation
Meet Clone Commander Rambo. He is absolutely amazing, has an incredible super-mega-destroyer class laser machine gun, and can beat anyone.
Does that description annoy any of you? Do you resent the fact that I made an invincible character that is still only a clone of one guy, yet rose up the ranks to become a thousand times better than his original host? Now, I'm not saying people are as extreme as this, but I've seen some questionable Clone Commanders.
This is Clone Commander Ninja. He wields a DC-3089 machine gun, and has a lightsaber from a Sith Lord that he defeated in unarmed combat. He also has a katana to scare battle droids and make them run away.
Clone Commander Ninja is WAY too extreme also. I often see nonsense about frightening robots. Who in their right mind would program fear into a robot soldier?! Clones can be cool, but they're still clones.
Usually these Clone Commanders are featured in comics involving a single combat fight with General Grievous. Usually, General Grievous loses to a clone. That's like a Super Battle Droid defeating Anakin.
Worse, once Grievous is defeated, he does something cowardly and stupid like calling "Mommy!" First of all, Grievous is a brutal commander. In the unlikely event of defeat, he would do something crafty and brutal.
To preserve the storyline of Star Wars, the Clone Commander is usually distracted while Grievous runs away. "Hey, what's that?" "What, where?" Then Grievous escapes.
Having a Clone Commander more powerful than Grievous is as ridiculous as this picture: A clone of the robot General Grievous riding a horse while dual wielding a 'Super-mega-destroyer class laser machine gun' and a medieval flail.
Now, I can even understand beating Grievous indirectly like an ambush or a sniper. I thankfully sometimes see this and greatly prefer it over the alternative which is in single combat.
In conclusion, your Clone Commander may be awesome, but don't make him invincible or have him outdo his role. This whole MOC is extreme, and I haven't seen anything this crazy, but some of them out there are pretty ridiculous. Just tone down your Clone Commander. He can be individualized, but not turned into a god.

I love the metaphor with the robot riding a horse with a super laser machine gun and a mideval flail. that made me chuckle. |

Brilliant, but you forgot to call them 'elite recon' commanders and colour their armour with sharpies - then they would have been perfect.
Good work. |
