This is amazing Sean! I love the angles and curves. Sean, I have a favor to ask of you. I really want to know how to get my creations displayed in the local LEGO Store, so I talked to one of the employees. He said that most displays are built by AFOLs but that shouldn't stop me. He also told me be couldn't help me personnaly and that I need to go through the LEGO company. Could you help me out? |

Again, Sean, well done! Though I am curious about the wheel. I don't understand the connection on the top (sides) of the rim. Is that a pressure fit that is held in place by the two top wheel spokes? Or are those two elements actually studded down? |

Hey Sean. I have a quick question: How come when I try to upload PNG files as my avatar, it shows up as a blank? Because JPEG files are NOT good. Anyway, awesome car! Quite different. You made it almost entirely out of BRICKS! Well done! |

Why dont you use "real wheels"
Well, it's rare that there will be a LEGO wheel that's exactly the right size. In this model, even the largest TECHNIC wheels are too small. Models that are commissioned by someone else always come with requests, like "Make it 2 feet long", so I can't always choose a scale that I like. But the challenge is half the fun! :) (And besides, with everything so blocky, the round wheels would be the only thing that isn't rectangular, and I think a little distracting.)
Quoting Henrik Hoexbroe
Why dont you soften the curves using SNOT techniques?
I like the blocky look of the LEGO bricks... it's looks more LEGOy to me. :) |
