Johnny 5
Johnny 5 from short circuit.
About this creation
This MOC was built for a Vancouver Lego Club mecha competition. It doesn't really fall very well into the category of mecha but it was within the guidelines of the competition so... Anyways, Johnny here didn't win, possibly because of the aforementioned lack of mecha qualities, but much more probably because the winning entry, a Steam Boy inspired quadraped mecha was absolutely brilliant in conception and execution. Without further ado, Johnny 5 from Short Circuit fame.

   Number 5 is alive.

Notable lack of badass shoulder laser. It's Johnny from the intermovie period. Post laser, pre toolbox.

   Bootylicious.

It's been so long since I watched Short Circuit that I forgot the robot's name. Nevertheless, I definitely recognized what movie it was from prior to reading your description. You succeeded in creating a fantastic likeness.

Absolutely brilliant. I love the treads and the rear caster. The arms are a little large. It looks like Johnny 5 has been working out. The Star Wars engine works nicely for the torso. I also love the head with the drill eyebrows. You should add the mouth to add to the character of the model. It would be hilarious if you made a Three Stooges version of the robot with the toilet seat around the neck. Great stuff.
