after playing Combat Arms, i decided that i still liked the G36 family, as i had gone off them when i discovered the HK416. im still not sure where i stand with the G36C, but i do really like the G36K now, so i built it. (technically, this is a G36KE, but everyone knows it as just a K, so thats what i called it)
as with my G36C, the gun is the wrong shape to fit my normal bolt action mech in, so las time i tried out the popular semi auto brickshooting technique, but this time i invented a whole new mech! the idea has been around for years (in my head and on the web), but i built it so that it loaded straight from a normal magazine
basically, to load it, you put the magazine in, then pull back a little lever where the real cocking handle should be (but isnt). this is the 'hammer', and as it passes the 9-brick magazine its angled edge pushes a brick down into the magazine, and then up again when the hammer passes. the hammer then locks onto a piece further back. when you pull the trigger, the locking piece is removed, letting the hammer shoot down the barrel, picking up the top brick in the magazine as it passes, and when the hammer stops, this piece continues down the barrel. simple.
although that seems complicated, it really isnt, im just not good at explaining things. im actually more proud of the folding stock, which works just like the real one with a compact mechanism, instead of the huge one that i had in my G36C. more info on that later.
pics: left side
right side, stock folded
left side, same
the stock lock mech
it can be pressed in, so that...
...when the stock is locked...
...you can unlock it by pressing the button!
the hinge. this took a while, as i had to find all those 3x2 flats-with holes-in-the-ends, in my floor of lego. i actually started it with a different setup, and after abou hlf an hour i finished it, only to realise it didnt work properly, and had to start all over again. bummer.
the two magazines. i could have build 2 of either type, but i couldnt decide which looked better. any help with the decision apprecieated.
the feed system. the hammer (see above^) passes next to the 2x1 flat when it moves back. the top had to be a half-unit wide, so the bullets are still held down but the hammer can still pass.
that curved piece is the hammer. i couldnt make a reasistic cocking handle because of how the mech worked.
the hammer, uncocked
same, but cocked.
the sight, as said earlier, this should technically be a G36KE, but everyone knows it as jst teh K version.
two sight pics, one focused on the sight, the other on the wall i was aiming at.
the hammer. note the curved underside and the attached handle
mech, no magazine
mech, with magazine
mech loaded, with magazine. there is another side to the tube that holds the hammer at teh back, but its on the other 'wall' of the gun.
please guys, know that everybody can read your e-mail + Jack Streat doesn't has instructions for his guns, only for his hk416 (but you don't need to give your e-mail for that) and you can buy his book with instructions of four legoguns. but giving your e-mail won't help...
would you mind sending me the most recent set of instructions to your most successful G36 line? thanks a ton man, love you're work and i already managed to make ur HK 416 gun =P
please send the instructions to <email@example.com>
EVERYONE! BEFORE POSTING A COMMENT READ THIS! HE HAS NOT A SINGLE BOOKLET, PIECE LIST, INSTRUCTION FOR ANY GUN OTHER THAN HIS H&K M416
SO STOP FREAKING ASKING! HES NEVER, NEVER, NEVER EVER GOING TO GIVE THEM OUT CAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY! SO LOOK AT EVERYONE ELSE'S COMMENTS AND ASK IF THEY GOT THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM HIM OK.
please please send me the instructions to the G36K! i fall in love every time i look at one of your guns! i never thought this was ever even possible! :D i'd even pay you for them if i could!
This is probably one of the best g36k's that i have ever seen made out of lego great job. ps could ya please tell me where ya get ideas to build your lego guns beace im finding it hard to build one of the top of my head if ya can tell me send the information to firstname.lastname@example.org thank you and once again great gun.!!!!!

Awesome, Jack, this mechanism is so simple, even I can use it¡¡¿¿ Be proud of it, it's seriously awesome. But one question: Is is more powerfull than your bolt-action mechanism?
did you see in the pics of the hammer that id put 4 rbs on it? they made the gun have equal or more power than my more powerful bolt actions, but within reason you could have as many bands as you want! and leandre my name is streaty121, but im new and rubbish, lol
The gun over all looks great, but I think some things could use some work. The sight hole should me a bit bigger and shouldn't the cocking lever come forward before the gun is fired? Anyways, I really love how you designed the stock, and like always 5/5
