working bolt action G36K. i invented a new mech!

About this creation

after playing Combat Arms, i decided that i still liked the G36 family, as i had gone off them when i discovered the HK416. im still not sure where i stand with the G36C, but i do really like the G36K now, so i built it. (technically, this is a G36KE, but everyone knows it as just a K, so thats what i called it)

as with my G36C, the gun is the wrong shape to fit my normal bolt action mech in, so las time i tried out the popular semi auto brickshooting technique, but this time i invented a whole new mech! the idea has been around for years (in my head and on the web), but i built it so that it loaded straight from a normal magazine

basically, to load it, you put the magazine in, then pull back a little lever where the real cocking handle should be (but isnt). this is the 'hammer', and as it passes the 9-brick magazine its angled edge pushes a brick down into the magazine, and then up again when the hammer passes. the hammer then locks onto a piece further back. when you pull the trigger, the locking piece is removed, letting the hammer shoot down the barrel, picking up the top brick in the magazine as it passes, and when the hammer stops, this piece continues down the barrel. simple.

although that seems complicated, it really isnt, im just not good at explaining things. im actually more proud of the folding stock, which works just like the real one with a compact mechanism, instead of the huge one that i had in my G36C. more info on that later.

the hinge. this took a while, as i had to find all those 3x2 flats-with holes-in-the-ends, in my floor of lego. i actually started it with a different setup, and after abou hlf an hour i finished it, only to realise it didnt work properly, and had to start all over again. bummer.

magazine well

the two magazines. i could have build 2 of either type, but i couldnt decide which looked better. any help with the decision apprecieated.

the feed system. the hammer (see above^) passes next to the 2x1 flat when it moves back. the top had to be a half-unit wide, so the bullets are still held down but the hammer can still pass.

that curved piece is the hammer. i couldnt make a reasistic cocking handle because of how the mech worked.

the sight, as said earlier, this should technically be a G36KE, but everyone knows it as jst teh K version.
