A prototype model of the TX-130 Tank used during the Clone Wars and early days of the Imperial Era.
About this creation
I built this model probably about two years ago, before the official set of the Saber-class tank was released. I modeled it after the TX-130 from the Clone Wars video game and the TX-130T from Battlefront. This model is intended to look like a prototype of the vehicle, not the mass-production version seen in either game.
Side view, highlighting the communication anntennaes and dual laser cannons. The tank is primarily grey and white, but I added bits of red here and there in the Old Rebublic fashion.
Front view, with the side vents open. The windshield is still divided as it appears in the mass-production model, though this prototype has more of a bulky divider.
Shot of the back, showing off a little bit more of the Rebublic flair.
The backside without any protective covering. Why would I include this, you might ask?
So that I can convert the TX-130 into the TX-130S! Yes, this prototype can have its rear section removed and replaced with a heavy laser turret. The mass-production model of the TX-130S has more of an enclosed turret, though the gunner's head is still exposed. This version has heavy protection in the front and back, but leaves the gunner somewhat exposed on either side. Also, the turret is an attachment on the back as opposed to being mounted on the top entry hatch.
Angled shot of the TX-130S variant.
Back view. I intentionally mad the rear thrusters in a different style for the TX-130T variant, so that it appeared slightly slower.
Close-up of the turret.
Inside of the cockpit, giving a view of the controls. I added a small area behind the pilot's seat that can hold two blasters or a lightsaber (if a Jedi commander is piloting the tank).
