A ship with a Technic frame, exceeding 100 studs in length.
About this creation
Some of you may have heard of the SHIP designation (Seriously Huge Investment in Parts), reserved for spacecraft that exceed 100 studs in a particular dimension. Models this large are usually built by people with a sizeable Lego collection.

Of course, I'm not one of these people. I do have a good deal of Technic, though ... and that got me thinking.

Here, then, is the Cheater, version 1.0, an "open-hull freighter". Due to its technic frame, the ship breaks the SHIP barrier of 100 studs (hence the name). w00t~!

Thanks to D-san for the "open-hull freighter" name. Note that, soon after I built the Cheater, D-san built his own "open-hull freighter".

Close-up of cab, showing the SNOT construction on the windshield (which wound up making construction on the rest of the ship really messy). Gotta love the perspective in this image...

Antenna up. This is probably my favorite part on the ship aside from the windshield.

Front end, with gun turret. With such an exposed design as this, protection from pirates is necessary.

Living quarters. The big door, which does not dock to moonbase, connects to a rotationally symetrical docking system I created.

Roof removed (forcibly!) for a look inside. These are the main reactors.

Roof again removed forcibly for a view into the bridge.

   Toilet.

Bottom of the ship, with rear landing gear deployed.

Rear landing gear retracted. Actually, this ties with the windshield as my favorite part of the ship.

   Front landing gear ...

... as you can see, it doesn't retract as nicely.

Looks like modular pods (for cargo, etc.) could be attached to the technic frame

Ha ha!!! That's really clever! The idea for the front part to be so extended is cool. Keep building keep it up!

Haha, lets hear it for beating the system! You get points for being sneaky. The windshield is nice too, and as a new builder I learned two new LEGO terms- SHIP and SNOT. good work!
