Jagdpanzer 38 tank destroyer "Hetzer"
The Jagdpanzer 38 (meaning hunting tank) was an extemely succesful Nazi tank destroyer. It's sloping armor provided maximum shot deflection. It was also armed with a powerful Pak 39 anti-tank gun and was based on the Panzer 38 chasis. It featured a remote MG-34 on top so the crew could remain completely sealed inside. My only regret is that the running gear is slightly off. As always please enjoy and comment. =)
About this creation

This is a front view of the 38 and shows the extreme slope of the armor and how far off to the right the gun is mounted.

Here is the side of the tank and shows the sloping armor at the front and back.

Here is a close up on the back. The extra fuel tank with hose leading to the engine and extra running gear are shown.

This shows the remote MG-34 and hatch, mounted on top and slightly to the left.

This is a first for me, details on the inside of the tank. The commander/gunner uses the periscope to aim the remote MG, while the loader, on the left, reloads the main weapon. The driver, on the right, positions the Jagdpanzer for the next shot.

Here is a veiw of the main gun. The thing practicaly scream: "SURRENDER!"

Here is the 38 in camoflauge leaves.

This is the veiw of the Jagdpazer an allied scout plane would get of a 38 in the field.

Here the crew fires the main gun.

Hetzer's gonna Hetz! Awesome work, but it is so scrunched up and tiny! You should make a bigger version!

Very nice! However, the muzzle flash in the last pic needs some work.

Quoting Tom Simon Sweet! The look above the treads is great and proportional. I'm tickled because I like selecting the Hetzer in a particular WWII game I play. The builder's historical comments are correct. The Germans had a bazillion tank destroyer models (and everything else), with very similar names and overall appearance. Question Kriss: since you are into this type of build, why not break down and spend 5 bucks on technic tracks, so you don't have to be limited anymore?
Thanks, one of the things I don't like about it, as far as games go, is it is only a light AT gun, and is indeed comparatively small to almost everything else. I am considering reattempting this one, because it was so easy to build (it was a pain to maintain though) and worked so well, but Lego.com doesn't sell technic tracks (I think) and I can't operate the other online stores, but if soemone could provide something step-by-step, I would appreciate it. I have been considering this for the longest time (that and getting BrickArms) =)

Quoting Nicholas spaulding i like the build overall but i would make it a little wider and longer. the panzer 38(T) and all tanks originating from it had 4 road whells then the toothed whell and the running wheel. i do like it but needs a litle more work mate...
Thanks, thats one of my major disappointments, I was so limited by my rubber treads, I might try to rebuild this some day, especially considering its so easy to build. =)

Still really awesome! Im going to try to build a Panther (without the V, Fuhrer's orders) in LDD, cuz I dont have enough slope bricks to make it in real life! Too bad the tracks in LDD make it unbuyable.

Quoting Landkreuzer P.1000 Ratte its good and all but its the hetzer an other totally different tankhunter. also jagdpanzer is a tankhunter/destroyer version of the panzer mark 4. panzer doesn't mean panther it means tank.
Thanks for commenting! I did say this was the Hetzer in another reply but Ill change the tittle. Your right, Panzer does translate to tank, a book I own has it listed differently, so Ill change that to. Now for the bad news, there are more than one version of the Jagdpanzer, this one being the 38, designated because it was based on the Panzer 38 chassis, therefore the Jagdpanzer 38 and the Hetzer are the same thing. =)

Impressive that you can fit so many figs in such a small model. Sloped armor looks very real and correct. The camo works very well! -As you say yourself; the tracks are no good.
