Geonosis was the home planet of the Geonosians, the Confederacy's first capital, and a major droid foundry and the site of a two major battles in the Clone Wars.

It's good. But the grey base plate doesn't really go well with it the other colored pieces. I would suggest you cover the hole base plate with tan and brown pieces. Then add stuff like rocks and other type things. But it's okay. 4/5.
I had then same problem when i built my geonosis even when i have lots of tan pieces i run out of them when i take too many big baseplates to cover- so this is not bad i give 3 for good try- but sadly you don't have enough pieces for Geonosis diorama- so it is no use to build it- do a vig- is this supposed to be microscale or what this looks really boring without ships and characters and all- with gray baseplate you should build some other planet...
Well, it's a start. I suggest taking off all the pieces from the baseplate, and putting them back together in a vignette about the size 14x14. If you create a vignette, I suggest not making the ground look sloppy and random, but you should add different colored plates stacked up about 3 studs to make a hill. Then add some figures shooting each other, maybe a few rock formations here and there and boom! You've got yourself a nice vignette!
