IMS-MID-008 "Mechanized Infantry Device mk VIII 'Executioner'"
Unfortunately, not too many pics of this one survived, sorry about the picture quality. This is among the smaller mecha I have made (though it still fits a minifig)
About this creation
IMS-MID-008 “Executioner”

With the universe conquered and ground under the Neo-Void heel, High Command turned to the task of governing and policing their holdings. Having seen in the past just how readily their subject worlds had been able to unite against them, the developers at IMS were tasked with the creation of a MID that would be suitable for pacification operations, not open warfare.

The developers at IMS took High Command’s parameters and created the MID mk VIII, called “Executioner”. It was the smallest mecha yet fielded by the Neo-Void, and was equipped for policing rather than battlefield operations. Its advantages were in its vast numbers and simplicity of construction, making it easy to repair and maintain.

The mk VIII ran off of a scaled down thermonuclear fusion reactor, rather than the titanic output reactors of its predecessors. However, the reactor had an active service life of nearly 1,000 years without refuelling, making it extremely economical. The scaled down reactor resulted in similarly low power weapons and performance, but High Command reasoned that these would not be needed in the “new” universe.

For defense, the mk VIII sported navigational shields, as these were sufficient to repel even hand carried heavy weapons at the time. Its armor was a simple titanium-X alloy, cheap and plentiful to obtain.

The mk VIII’s armaments consisted of a twin linked light beam cannon and two low yield, short range missile launchers. It was equipped with two pincer hands for melee combat.

The VIII’s deployment was a total success. Even the appearance of the machine was often enough to frighten would-be dissidents into submission. Gradually over the next million years, the scattered rebellions quieted and were finally silenced.

Nearly 900 trillion MID mk VIIIs were produced by various companies over a one thousand year period. They were eventually all replaced by the newer MID mk IX.

The mecha has small thrusters that allow it to make limited jumps.

You can see from the size of the mech that at this point in the MID series, the Void had decided that smaller and more numerous was better than huge, heavily armed mecha.

The Void use these mecha for policing their empire, rather than for battle.

Quoting Savior commander Vega gomez Ahhh...Now you go with no cockpit and the ball joints!Na,jk.Hahahaha!I did the same on my 2 new mechs Savior Duel, and Jada Darkblade both have ball joints. The only way you could see them is on the premeire of mechamorphisis(my new anime)or mabye I will post them on flickr,at the end of the month.Nice all in all. :) ~V
It has a cockpit--the person stands up in it to save space. I didn't have a cockpit open shot on this one, unfortunately. The mk IX does though, and then you'll be able to see how it all works. Can't wait to see the new mecha. Let me know when they are up!

These were fun to make: they were easy to build, used very common parts, for the most part, and very poseable and playable. And they all fit a minifig ;)
