BMW X5 2008
Finaly!! After two month work, here is my newest chalange... and 2nd MOC. Enjoy!!!
About this creation
First things first.
This is L3B file (SR 3D Builder - remember, I mentioned it before - application I work with). Some images are a bit blury - I guess SR 3D Builder isn't designed for capturing awsome pics, sorry for that.

Never thought, that this model would be so complicate to design. Firstly I fought, that making 4-wheel-drive (4x4) will be the most difficult part, but actually that was the easiest. Every part of the car is redesigned for about tree, four times. And still there are things I would like to rebuild. It has too big gap between front doors and fender, but rebuilding this meens rebuilding all the model. And this I realy don't want. So.. I will lear from my mistakes and try to do better on next ones. If I have to judge it, I give no more than 7/10

So, what does this one have?
- 4x4 (already metioned)
- independent suspension for each wheel (probably the simplest possible)
- steering (from steer)
openable:
- all doors
- trunc (two parts)
- hood
- glove box
- box between front seats
- box behind rear seats (in the floor)
adjustible:
- all seats
- sun visors
- side mirrors
middle seats (yeah... new bmw x5 has third seat row) can be turned down, so if you remove third row seats, you earn big space.

Number of LEGO parts = 3049

some shots of exterior design:

Bottom. Front wheel differential is hard to see, but it is there, the same gears as back differential has.

Above the front differential is working V6 engine. It is connected to the differential with two rubber bents.

Doors open. Rear doors can be opened even if front doors is closed. I think that worth to mention. :) Also, notice license plate lights in the trunc-doors.

Glove box open

Instrument box behind the rear seets (in the floor) open

Pasangers sun visor down

Small stuff box open between the front seats

There is adjustible coffee cup holder in the middle seats

Rear seats - fully functional.

That's all for now. Sorry to say, but this model wont be built in real bricks for a long time (at least not by me). Global crisis - you know ;) But.. if there is questions on some technicks I used - I'll be happy to help with some gidelines. Personaly I like the best the top of the car, the angled part of doors and roof - never seen other builders using this style.

Leave some "faces" and comments, and... see you soon!

Big, intricate, insanely detailed. Simply cant imagine what it took to build this masterpiece. In fact, "masterpiece" is an understatement, if the words were any stronger i'd be bordering on using curse words. Just... Awesome.

Quoting Tanner Asla Good! but i installed SR-3D Builder, but after it, it says "error", so how to fix it?!?!? and my computer is Windows XP Professional
It needs ldraw library and windows net framework 2.0 If you install bouth of those app. everything should work just fine. If not, conatact Sergio - the developer. His contacts you should be able to find on his homepage, most likely the same you downloaded the program itself. He'd been answered all my questions very acurate and professionaly. Good luck!!

Hi, just let you know it turns out I rated a lot of MOC's without signing in, so my name don't show up in the list of people who likes it. But I do view and rate most of the new MOC's, sometimes it's no use to comment it, everything is said already;) Greetings, Fred.

Hmmm... some squeakers have been showed up... :( Grow up guys - build your own creations, you're better on that than you think. You may ask me of some specific methods I used - welcome, but I'm not very happy of giving the file to everybody - otherwise I would hane been uploaded it. Sorry if I seem rude but I don't see any satisfaction in building other guys creations. If you're totaly out of your mind and any ideas - pay me EUR 10 and I'll send you my file in notime. Well, I wanted it to be sand blue, but those little slopes 1x1x2/3 aren't in sand blue. Pitty, isn't it?? ;)

This is magnificent. I just read something about the X5, that it will have a facelift. A X5M would be very cool. The BMW X5 has not a V6 but a 6 line engine ;D , but the rest is perfectly shaped and looks like the real one. A V8 version would I prefer, but this is also very cool. Keep building like this my friend :D
