IMS-BT-001 "B-Type mk I 'Reaper'"
This is the last of the First Generation Void Mecha. It is also probably the most advanced machine of its series. You may notice its similarities to VRMS' products. This is because it was stolen from them, originally.
About this creation
ARMS-BT-001-004 “B-Type Series”

The B-Type “Buster” or “Black” Series of mecha was intended to function as an assault type mecha. The design was the result of promptings from the Admiral’s command staff, who even early on in the development project, were pushing for offensive weapons. Its design centered around engaging multiple enemies simultaneously at multiple ranges. The B-Type project was halted after the theft of the mk I. However, with the recent disappearance of the Professor from VRRD and the subsequent uprising of IDRD, the project was recently resumed.

ARMS-BT-001 “B-Type mk I”

The “Reaper” B-Type mk I was the result of an espionage operation against Void Resistance Mecha Systems. Following reports from Imperial spies that the Ancient Remnant was involved in a mecha development program of their own, Imperial Command ordered Imperial intelligence to investigate. Every time, their agents were discovered and repulsed. Finally, Unit 912, at the time, one of the Imperial Navy’s most mysterious, but also most celebrated pilots, was sent in to fulfill the mission. Unit 912 successfully infiltrated VRMS and discovered that the Remnant had long since passed the prototype phase and was well on their way to production models. He stole the remote activation codes for the first production unit under construction, the B-Type mk I.

Following the operation, Unit 912 escaped from VRMS and waited for the B-Type’s trial flight to begin. When it finally did, the Imperial pilot activated the ejection system for the B-Type, sending the Remnant pilot into space. Unit 912 then commandeered the unit and fled with it back to IMS.

The developers at IMS were astounded to discover that not only was the Ancients’ mecha program well along, but that their earliest production models were far more advanced than IMS’ latest mass production models. The B-Type had a frame that was capable of smoother movement and of bearing larger loads for its size than any IMS had ever seen. The unit’s stabilized plasma reactor was generations ahead of the most advanced compact thermonuclear fusion reactor that the Imperium had fielded. It had a higher output, was more stable, and had no byproducts except trace inert helium. The durable and light ferro-ceramic composite outer structure of the B-Type astounded IMS’ engineers, who had been working with and developing their top-secret titanium-x alloy for generations.

The lighter weight of the unit resulted in a large amount of space for defensive and offensive equipment. The unit had high powered energy shields in addition to arm mounted solid shields. The B-Type also featured a plethora of weapons, including battleship-strength beam cannons and a powered scythe capable of rending even the toughest armor. However, the unit’s most impressive piece of armament was its hand carried XMS-1667 “Nuclear Rifle” heavy radiation cannon, capable of destroying a capital ship in a single blast at range. In the past, such systems had needed an enormous amount of power supplied and an accompanying enormous structure to support those systems. But the Ancient engineers had solved the problem by providing the rifle with discardable nuclear cartridges.

The developers presented their findings to High Command, but all proposals to adapt the Ancients’ technology for their own use were firmly rejected. Unit 912 eventually prevailed on IMS’ developers to turn the B-Type over to him. He then returned to the front with the unit and proceeded to spearhead a number of vicious assaults on the Ancient Remnant.

The fantastic power of the B-Type resulted in little opposition for Unit 912, until gifted Remnant pilot Grant Hart was able to fight the Neo-Void pilot to a near standstill in his VRMS-WT-001A “W-Type Custom” unit. Damaged and unable to overcome his foe for the time being, Unit 912 withdrew and returned to IMS to have the B-Type’s armament upgraded. The resulting machine would be the B-Type mk IA.

Quoting Space Pirate nice! but the photos could be better ;)
Yeah, I was still learning my camera, and by the time I did, this one had been cannibalized for parts on other MOCs

Quoting Moodswim . Oh, yeah, that's me showing my age! It was a toy line and comic book series in the 70's. They were toy-size in the story and looked very mecha-like. This one reminds me of the bad guy leader, but I can't remember his name. You should Google them and check them out:)
Will do :)

Quoting Tom R. That chainsword always amazes me :D Great work yet again on this fine mecha I really like the torso designs you put in each of your mechs they also seem to dazzle me, and remind me: Why didn't I think of that?
Everyone has their own style. Most of my chest designs result from the peculiarites of trying to fit a minifig in the torso.

Quoting Cody G yeah, you should see some of my older mocs, with the flash turned on and no closeup feature. it was awful! lol
On the bright side, we'll be moving back into good quality mecha now, so stay tuned

Thanks! Those are my favorite parts too. Sorry about the bad pics--this was taken before I really understood how to use my camera. Its among the very first mecha I built.
