Final Second Generation mecha. It was originally produced by VRMS, but was stolen by IMS. It was built to optimize acceleration in a mecha.
About this creation
IMS-RT-001 “R-Type Series”
The short-lived R-Type “Red” or “Rapid” Series of mecha is little known outside of development team circles. It was the fourth of the second generation series of Remnant mecha that had its basis in the X-Type mk II’s prototype frame. The R-Type Series was an attempt on the part of the developers to maximize a mech’s top speed through the use of experimental boosters that would eventually form the basis for all third generation mecha propulsion.
IMS-RT-001 “Meteor” R-Type Mk I
The R-Type mk I was the second unit stolen from VRMS during an espionage operation orchestrated by Unit 912. The Neo-Void pilot’s lieutenant, Foresta Orbile, eager to gain the attention of her superior, undertook a dangerous infiltration mission on her own without the permission of her commander. Her mission among the Ancient Remnant ended up being partially successful; though she eventually managed to commandeer the R-Type, she was discovered in the attempt, and it was only when Unit 912 intervened with the B-Type mk II that she was able to escape her pursuers.
While the mission had been undertaken for the sake of personal glory, rather than any tactical objective, the R-Type turned out to be a very useful experimental subject in the hands of IMS’s engineers.
The mk I had been designed solely to test the effectiveness of a new, advanced power plant and drive system. The ARMS-MD-5000 proton-ion reactor installed on the unit was as far beyond the plasma reactor, as the plasma reactor had been beyond the thermonuclear fusion reactors that preceded it. The drive was powerful enough to easily allow the unit to achieve escape velocity, even in high gravity and had near zero heat emissions, making the unit difficult to track. The advent of this drive would prove instrumental in providing the necessary power source for the gargantuan B-Type mk III that would proceed the mk II.
In order to allow the unit to maintain its maximum speed, the R-Type mk I carried little in the way of defensive and offisensive equipment, sporting two medium, rapid fire beam cannons and a token heat blade for melee combat. It was mostly suited to high speed recon or hit and run missions rather than dogfighting.
After the developers had looked it over, the mk I was returned to the care of Foresta Orbile as a prize of war. Orbile kept the R-Type for her personal use, using it as a support mecha for Unit 912’s B-Type mk II and to harass enemy convoys. When the B-Type mk II was defeated in combat, Orbile used the unit to return the remains of her commander and the mk II to IMS. When the B-Type mk III was completed, Orbile again returned with the R-Type mk I to the front, operating in much the same capacity as before. This time however, Orbile noticed that the R-Type’s effectiveness in combat was growing ever more obsolete due to the new generation of mecha that the Void Resistance had developed in the meantime.
Determined not to slip from her commander’s favour, she disobeyed orders and carried out a direct assault on the research facility responsible for the secret development of the W-Type mk III. However, her attack was halted by the arrival of a single M-Type mk I mecha. The R-Type’s capabilities were no match for the newer, more advanced M-Type and Orbile and her mecha ended up being easily dispatched.

How the fork do you pump out Lego mecha so fast? What's your secret? How long does each one take?
Well, it depends on which one. If its a more original one, then it takes longer, maybe a week. Gundams take 1-2 weeks. If it is just a variant, it takes less than a day. In this case though, its not much of a secret. I had all these sets up before. Then my account got ruined. I'm simply just re-uploading them again, little by little. Everything you see here has long been built.
