Instructions for my own robot design. Use it if you want, but don't forgot to credit when credit is due.

About this creation

A few people here and there have asked for instructions for building a robot like R0-13. Well, here you go!

The nice thing about this design is that the robot can stand, sit, and move around almost as much as a normal mini-figure. I've had mine sit in old and new ships and vehicles, and I also posed them with tools and weapons. They're surprisingly sturdy, dynamic and cool looking.

Here we have a shiny new white and silver version, the original blue model, and a rather spiffy looking black mod... wait a minute... is that a Blacktron robot?

Robots enjoy playing baseball. With their advanced electronic brains, they can just simulate the field, the grass, the lines, the bases, even the ball.

"SAFE!"

For parts, you will need the following. Colors are, of course, up to you.

The grill for the feet adds texture. You can use a regular plate or a tile, or even those little 1x1 slopes, but the dimensions of the feet are almost identical to that of a mini-fig's feet, allowing it to fit into the same areas.

The torso is a standard Star Wars droid torso, but we're going to add a bit to it, namely up front on in the back.

This is important: have the elbows here pointing towards the front, or else it won't work. I've made them with the elbows pointing back, and they don't fit too well into seats and cockpits.

Attach the arms to the feet section, and attach the handlebars to the chest. I find the thicker end of the arms look nicer on the shoulders, but you may find it the opposite. No, I did not screw up that photo...

Here is the head. Remember to turn the 2x2 dish so that a stud lines up with the direction of the robot body's front. This way, when you push the head down, it will be properly angled.
