MocOlympics Round 1 - John Moffat vs. Crazy Jay in Post Apoc
My first, and hopefully not last, entry in the 2009 MocOlympics

John Moffat vs Crazy jay in Post Apoc
See Jay's entry HERE

Ever since I made Robosaurus (Now dubbed RoboRaptor) I've wanted to continue with the "Robosaur Apocalypse" theme. Leave it to Chris Phipson to unleash the horror of an inspired John Moffat on the world. For the longest time I've also had the idea of using converted construction vehicles as Post Apocalyptic transport. After all, they're rugged, powerful, and heavy enough not to be flipped by an angry Robo-Rex (to come?). I was originally going to do one of those mobile cranes, but it proved to be something out of my league and thus this modified digger came to be. You can see the actual scoop has been cut off, and most of the original paint has flecked away. Operated by Al and Co Hol, and a man known only to them as Pops, this machine travels the ruins of the world salvaging what they can to survive.

The digger makes its way through a ruined street...

While a Robodactyl flies overhead

The digger and it's owners.

Front.

Left. You'll notice that the end of the cut-off arm may seem a little tacked-on, but that's how I wanted it to be. Things ain't pretty in the Apocalypse.

Back. You may also see this thing is missing a chunk or two from God-knows-what.

Right.

Top.

The body swivels 360 degrees; and I'll let Al take over from here.

"This here is the trunk, or as we like to call it, the stuck-on-storage-crate."

"This is where Co hangs his pack. Best not to ask why, I think."

"This here missile that Pops threw together a few years back is capable of downing a charging Robo-Rex (or so he says). We haven't had to use it yet, and hopefully our luck will hold."

"We use this salvaged electromagnet to sift through piles of debris for scraps of metal. It's also quite handy for wiping the drives of swarming Robo-Compies"

"This here bumper is used for directing smaller robos in our way under the tracks for a quick and crunchy death."

"We only use the spotlight in emergencies, as it sends out a signal comparable to 'Eat at Joe's'"

"Sure she's a little rusty, but she still works great. We've added some extra armor on the tracks to keep 'em from gettin' damaged."

"Hey! Gimme that back! Dang-it Co!"

"Get yer butt down here anyway, it's time for the group shot!"

-John again

Co Hol - The violent and somewhat dim-witted brother of Al.
Al Hol - The quick-thinking leader of the band.
Pops - The Hol brothers don't know who he is or where he came from. They don't really care to know either. All they know is that he's good at shootin' robots.

Robodactyl is one of those things that looks better in real life. But considering the 15 minutes max I spent on him...

The only thing better than a robotic flying Dinosaur is a jet-propelled robotic flying Dinosaur...

A side view. He's not so graceful on land....

The only thing better than a jet-propelled robotic flying dinosaur is a jet-propelled robotic flying dinosaur with an under-slung cannon. Actually, he'd probably look better without it, but too late now.

The simple background.

Giovanni Seynhaeve is a liar, he hated Crazy Jay's entry and said so outright, and since Crazy Jay doesn't exist anymore, you should probably edit this entry to just a MOC. Anyways, this is a really good post-apoc Moc, I like the Robo-saur element that was added to it, good job and congratulations on making it to the 2nd round and beyond!

The wing'd robotic dinosaur is awesome (as many have already said). Like the yellow on the digger trying to break through the oppressive colour scheme of post apoc.

Quoting Ethan Moss I believe sir, you have made a new category of post-apoc. Can I make a MOC inspired by this?
Well of course.

Very nice. I love the tacked-on/ battle damaged look, which is very appropriate and harder to acheive than 'leave some bits off'. Good luck.
