The NEOS Spider mech is essentially a mobile defense turret. hundreds of these mechs scurry about NEOS cruiser hulls destroying enemy fighters. their mobility makes them far superior to a turret because they can persue targets who have moved on to attack another area of the ship as well as dodging incoming fire.
About this creation
side view
the 'head', which consists of a photoreceptor and two cannons, which are less powerful but more manuverable than the main AA guns. The Spider is controlled by a pilot who remains safely inside the cruiser, underneath yards of armor. Should their mech be destroyed, they simply activate another from the cargo bay, and bring it out the nearest airlock.
The main guns, which are two quad plasma cannons which can fire in rapid succession so as to actually have a chance of hitting some of the ridiculously fast Dark Augusto ships.
IMA FIRIN MAH LAZOR(s)!!!
--Note--
this was a rather quick build, one hundred percent out of boredom. originally, I was going to make a giant NEOS bio-mech and use this thing's feet/claw/things as fingers for the behemoth, but I ran out of good pieces and I don't have enough technic experience to make do with what I have. So here's the by-product of something that could have been awesome had it been built by someone more skilled. thanks for checking it out!

This is really cool and all... but I can't give it a 5/5. I'm not sure why but I dispise MOCs that use Bionicle bricks. Sorry for disliking Bionicle, but I just like traditional Legos. |

what piece did you use to connect the head to the body
I just used a ball joint and a shoulder socket. the ball joint was attatched to the body by one of those T connecters that have a round side and a cross side. |

the cannon i needd the substitute for that and the body itself
the body is two bionicle hip pieces connected together, and the cannon is a beam that has those podracer engine pieces on it. they are on there by putting the studs on the top into the holes on the beam. that whole thing is connected to the body by a bionicle foot. the beam goes into the ball joint, and is connected through the two holes by one of those small red cross-connecters. I hope that helps, if you need anything else, feel free to ask. |

For a quick build, this is pretty good. I like the idea of using the old torso as the head: shame you couldn't build what you originally planned.
I used that idea ages ago for a microscale technic army that I made. unfortunately, I took it apart before I got a mocpages, so I never photographed any of them. |
