Ithorian Motors today Released it's 07 ABY speederbike collection.
Models have been significantly updated, including new modification systems, modular construction, and significantly increased load lifting for the Ithorian Worker model.
About this creation
Ithorian Motors today announced an entirely new line of speederbikes. The new line is completely revamped from prior models, including new safeguards preventing some of the headaches seen with last years models.
One significant change is a complete revamping of the control system, preventing worker models from overloading the repulsorlift system while not under load causing unsafe altitudes. As was widely reported, the 06 models had a high failure rate for the worker model's repulsorlift directional system, causing the projection-repulsorlift system to target down rather than forward. This caused several injuries and almost cost Ithorian Motors their entire credit line in litigation.
Up first is the Ithorian Chkulkak-ulk-kak-kak. Designed for a balance of speed and small storage space (all the models fold for storage) this machine is reported to have a top speed of a nigh-uncontrolable-for-even-a-jedi 221 KPH. While designed for speed, handling has seen little in the way of sacrifice, with a respectable 100m turning radius at 200 KPH - 25m at 100 KPH. - hope you are wearing a pressure suit.
Up next is the Ithorian Gll-guk-ak (Autonomous Loader/hauler). Boasting forward projection load lifters with a 2000kilo load bearing capacity, and...
Autonomous mode. The Autonomous Mechanical Industries corp. was brought in for a joint venture. Each of the 07 Ithorian speederbike collection has an autonomous mode where it can be given simple tasks using verbal commands - delivered either via Basic or Ithorian (of course) and it will follow through. It also has moderate self-navigational skills, though it does require planetary information to be provided prior to any significant self-navigational activity. Lack of passenger increases the load capacity to around 2100 kilos.
This is the shot that explains the namesake. I needed a couple of speederbikes for a much larger project (the Gallofree GKR TwinSun medium freighter) and so I sat down to see if I could whip something up. I've not had much interest in speederbikes before, but the first one (red worker model) was so much fun I made a second, then I modified the design enough to create one that was built for all-out speed. After having all three, I noticed that from the front, they all look like ithorians, hence the name.
Just a quick shot with the side panels removed in case you want instructions. Deviously simple if i do say so myself (I do)
