MOC Olympics Round 1: Chas Irish vs. Purple Pie
The first round of the MOC Olympics!
About this creation
Category: Steampunk
Opponent: Purple Pie

The entire MOC. It's a cabin where a bunch of Steampunk inventors work and create new machines. The cabin is built on the water, next to a waterfall.

A Steampunk water vehicle.

Working on a Steampunk robot.

Getting supplies.

A Steampunk hovercraft.

Let's hope this works!

The waterfall.

Foliage.

The top of the cliff.

Behind the cabin.

The front of the cabin

The inventor welds a piece of metal.

Tools and supplies.

The chimney.

A view from the mountainside.

A birds eye view.

Commentary:
I have to say I'm a little concerned about making it to the next round. Purple Pie is a great builder and I thought making it to the next round would be easier. Let's hope it's an even match-up!
This was my first Steampunk build. It was fun to make, but I'm ready to make something else. Hopefully I'll make it to round 2!

If you liked it, why not comment? I'd love to read what you have to say!

Lovely. Clever ideas, smart presentation and you got that 'quaint' feeling of steampunk tinkerers in their idyllic workshop knocking together oddball inventions. Well done.

Great work on capturing the 'Steampunk feel'. This is an amazing MOC and I really, really love the waterfall and landscaping. The hovercraft is spot on as well, but I would have liked to see more detail in the workshop. That aside, this is a great build and you should be really proud. Nice work!

Thanks! I planned on having more in the workshop, but I only had Friday to post. On Thursday night, the interior was the only thing left. That was as much as I got done. I wish I could have done more. I wanted a giant engine coming out of the side powered by water. I'm glad you liked it!

Quoting Freela and BrickFan93 Wow, I can learn sooooo much from studying this! Those rocks are as good as any I've seen, and your placement of plants is very natural feeling! The waterfall is different from all of the others I've seen, and I really like it, although transparent studs at the bottom would help. I love how the river issues from the fissure in the rocks at the top level. Your steampunk devices are good enough, but you could work on those some more. Overall, I'd say that this is one of the best examples of nature in a MOC I've ever seen.
I'm glad I can help you with your techniques!
