Full Retreat
As the title says, a total retreat involving the remains of a Jefferson's Marauders heavy lance.
About this creation
This thing was just put together soon after finishing the new Rifleman.

As you can see, they didn't exactly make the best of their engagement.

I like this picture.
The Rifleman has a royal blue colour scheme, mixed with Sky and Navy which sorta hide the laser and PPC scars.

As shown in this picture, out of the four-battlemech heavy lance the Shadowhawk was clearly first to die, indicating an ambush or meeting engagement; a well handled Shadowhawk can be very difficult to dispose of.

The second to fall was one of the Warhammers, dead of cataclysmic explosive trauma to the rear torso, not, as might seem initially, knee loss.
Most likely an ammunition explosion; those things can do hundreds of points of damage, you know. Blowing out the whole torso is the least they can do; if you're carrying a couple of tons of AC/20 ammo you've got no excuse for being surprised when the entire battlemech goes up in smoke.

In this case, the orange and yellow represents both the melted armour and internal structure and the fires raging inside.

As you can see, the damage was severe but not crippling until the ammo went up; yes, the left torso was almost slagged, but it wasn't completely gone.
The fusion engine did not explode: it could have, but the safety mechanisms managed to shut the reactor down before it detonated.

If it had gone, there would have been nothing more than a pair of charred legs.

One option for the cause of all this might be an encounter with a Marauder lance or a couple of assault 'mechs.

The scarring on the rear of the surviving Warhammer indicates that a PPC blast melted along the center and right rear torso, without causing dangerous damage levels.
That's what you get if you can't aim right.

Rate and comment, rate and comment, blahblahblah 5/5 etc. etc.

Not really.

Standard procedure, rate if you wish, comment if the fancy strikes you.
Otherwise something a little more solid might strike you, but that's not a threat.

Depending on your dictionary, of course.

Wow. Better mechs than I've ever managed to build. Unfortunately, I've never played the tabletop Battletech, but I have played Mechwarriors 3 & 4. I say the Shadowhawk was done in by a Long Tom, but hey, that's just me. Also, have you ever tried fitting all of a Fafnir's beam slots with M Lasers? A volley from that set would do plenty of damage with surprisingly little heat and recharge time.

Well, the power of boating medium lasers is well known. I've never tried it though, I prefer PPCs and heavy autocannons myself. Have you ever heard of the Nova? It's a Clan omnimech, the default config is just stuffed with ER M-lasers. On the other hand, it can easily explode if it fires everything it has in one go.

Quoting John the Imaginative Ima liken that skull plate. A little blocky though. -_-' (no offense)
None taken, it's a fact I know of as well. At this scale, there's real limits as to how accurate a moc can be vs how sleek it lookd.
