The Keep at Dinas Emirys
Just to show that I haven't abandoned Castle....
About this creation
My biggest, and best Castle MOC yet! This Castle took me about a month to build, it would have been shorter, except that I had to make a large Bricklink order to finish it.

The Keep at Dinas Emirys has stood strong and proud for untold centuries, watching over the small town below. It has survived 40 sieges by the neighbouring Crown Kingdom. The keep is ruled by the Duke of Emirys, one of the bravest men in the land. Built in the year of the 1020 BCE by King Francis I as a sanctuary from invading forces, the keep is now used as a full time fortress to protect the town of Dinas Emyris.

My inspiration, the Keep in Rochester, England.

The Castle.

A front view.

The top view.

The entry way. The statue above the entry way shows the Family motto of the keep: Knowledge before Power.

A bunch of pictures of the entrance.

The back.

Parts of the back open, so you can see inside.

The first floor, the guard chambers.

The two beds. Only two guards sleep at a time, the rest have to defend the castle.

The Kings chamber. The Queen is preparing a meal.

The top floor. I wanted to make all of the battlements SNOT, but my Bricklink order didn't have enough of those flat 2x2's.

Small slit windows to make it harder for archers to fire inside.

The side.

Anyways, that's all. I personally think that this is my best MOC yet. I'm not sure whether to enter this into my and Tristan's MOC-off. I'll see if I can get my planned entry done in time...

Great creation, I like the fact that you made the wall simple and I like simple because if it is over detailed you miss the whole thing basically.

Awesome castle! You did a great job on all the details, too. I like the drawbridge a lot, as well. I also like to order from Bricklink. :)

Good to hear you haven't abandoned Castle. Great job! I love the tiled battlements, even if the towers aren't tiled it gives them a distinction from the rest of the keep. Most awesome interior as well.
