VRMS-XT-006 "X-Type mk VI"
The final X-Type and the final mecha in the VRMS line. The X-Type mk VI is the most advanced mecha of its kind. It uses the Third Generation frame, but has a rotating waist as well.
About this creation
VRMS-XT-006 “X-Type mk VI”

The X-Type Series has always been at the forefront of new technological developments, and has often functioned as a prototype for each new generation of mecha. The X-Type mk VI represents a departure from this heritage, though its effectiveness remains second to none.

Following the battle of the Ylandran Shipyards, the wreckage of the X-Type mk V was recovered and returned to the headquarters of VRMS. The mk V was repaired and restored, but following court marshall proceedings against both the Professor and Solus, the mecha was simply left in storage. Six months later, when the Professor fled VRRD, he took the mk V with him.

Records at this point are somewhat questionable, but it appears that after the apparent founding of IDRD, the professor converted the mk V’s frame over to one of the more modern fourth generation frames, based off of the S-Type mk III prototype that had been stolen from VRMS by Mithryl.

The resulting machine was the X-Type mk VI. Even more so than its S-Type relative, it was the most advanced mecha of its time. While it possessed all of the mobility and defensive capabilities that all fourth generation mecha frames boasted, the mk VI took the capabilities of its peers and went a step further with them.

Among the many innovations on the mk VI was its anti-beam coated shield armor. Powered by a dispersive network reaction system like the S-Type mk III, M-Type mk II and the G-Type mk III, the armor was composed of alternating layers of shield armor and a new type of beam-reflective armor in thin sheets. The resulting material provided excellent defence against both energy and solid weapons, even in the super-heavy class, making the mk VI almost impregnable. This was the first time that such armor had been successfully implemented on a large scale.

The mk VI’s propulsion system is also worthy of note. While retaining its ability to execute several short dimensional jumps in quick succession, the mk VI introduced a new-sunbeam based propulsion system that used available positrons in the environment as fuel, and stored them up for when there were none.

Those same positron accumulators were used to power the mecha’s armament. While retaining the twin beam sabres from the mk V, the rest of the mk VI’s armament was greatly revamped. The shoulder laser cannons were upgraded to newer homing laser cannons. The graviton guns were scrapped in favour of a hand carried multi phase sunbeam cannon capable of functioning in a number of roles including a superweapon, rapid fire rifle and as a sniper rifle.

Only a single X-Type mk VI was produced by VRMS, and was given over to Solus for his personal use.

Quoting Cody G awesome mech! the missile wings, beam sword, and all the transparent parts on the armor look great!
With the transparent parts, I wanted it to look like it had energy flowing throughout the machine. I guess it kind of worked...

Quoting Moodswim . Very coolness! Reminds me of a Robotech Veritech mecha (which is a GOOD thing):)
Its the head and the upper legs! My friend said the head looked like Briareos from Appleseed. Ah well, I just needed something a bit different. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Quoting Robo Man Dang man, don't post a lot! I mean it is creation after creation. Not saying that it is bad or anything but what surprises me is that they are all excellent :)
This is a year's worth of building posted in about a month. Its only to be expected. I'm not going to have a lot of time to be on MOCpages after this, so I had to get it all done now.
