Close quarters space/atmospheric fighter. The Urchin utilizes 22 rocket engines. All but 4 of these can be vectored. Originally conceived for asteroid belt exploration and geological survey applications, it was quickly weaponized, capitalizing on its high degree of maneuverability and versatility. The command module rotates 360 degrees on its axis independently of the thrust ball, offering the 2 man crew some protection from the extreme g-forces associated with piloting this vehicle. As a ground based or hover platform, the Urchin offers unique defensive and offensive capability, delivering mortars and anti-personnel solutions. The command module also detaches to become a stand alone mini fighter also capable of dual axis operation. 2 weapons pylons may also be deployed and retrieved automatically, broadening the Urchin's reach. 5 smaller retro thrusters at the front of the craft serve 2 functions with centre mounted cannons.
