This is my entry for the "Pimp My Mech" contest at Reasonably Clever .

So I didn't really "Pimp" my mech out as much as I could have. I don't really build system that much so it was just a fun exercise in seeing how much detail I could get on the model without losing the main silhouette of the original model.

I basically bought two of the #7708 LEGO Exo-Force "Uplink" sets. I also had a #8641 Lego Racer "Flame Glider" set lying around and used that.

Detail shot of the gun. OMG! I put a sticker on a piece!! I think that's the extent of my "Pimposity."

More detail showing true "Pimp" sticker placement.

I originally tried to just add the bigger guns and missle pod onto the originaly models arms but they kept falling off so I had to reinforce them.

The original model had an exposed cockpit but I wanted a little more protection. The cockpit is a little nod to my Bionicle collection. If you look at the control panel there's one missing where you see studs. I didn't notice it was missing until I looked at it on Brickshelf. Oh well.

   Full cockpit exposed glory.

The pilot standing next to his little toy for scale.

I don't know why anybody would want an engine intake right behind their head but I thought it was a good idea a the time.

Engine...Pimped! Here's where I went nuts. The bling is the chrome-ish enginges. They're actuallly platinum.

Luckily I found this orange steering wheel in one of my kids bins. Don't know where it came from but sometimes stealing from your kids can be a good thing.

The pilot admiring his nekkid mech. One little note: There's a hose running from one joystick to the other. It wraps around the midsection but you can't see it in any of the pics. I just wanted to share that with you because it's the tinyist of details that truly satisfy.

I wanted to add more missles but couldn't (read lazy).

Yeah the background is kinda dark. I wanted to do something different than the normal white. White would have shown the detail off better I know but...

   Another booty shot. Love binoculars.

No stickers on the backs of the calfs. Ran out.

See that rounded brick sticking out of the shoulder?? Just stuck in there. No connection. If you look from the top also there is an orange wheel rim stuck in the opposite hole.

The gun is pretty heavy and keeps drooping. Who knew mechs needed little blue pills?

I had fun building this one. I might build another system something in the future.

Thanks for coming by. As you can see the pilot is a little anxious so you better go. Y'all come back now y'hear?

I saw that, and the winner was WAY COOL! For those of you who don't know, it was an uplink that turned into a car. This is still cool. I love the cockpit cover.
