About this creation
This is version 2 of the Forerunner construct Halo. The model contains 8475 pieces. Improvements include a full terrain remake (50% land, 50% oceans), hidden joints, no gaps between segments, easter eggs added, an unfinished section of the ring under construction, and more... Unless I find a better way to construct the ring this will be the last Halo "Ring" I will make for a while. I hope to construct this model in the future, but at the moment I don't have $1K to just build a model, if you know what I mean, Lol. Enjoy

In this photo you can observe everything from the original sections to the terrain inspirations, easter eggs, and cloud elevation.
The top terrain strips are from sections of Earth near the equator tilted at 7°, the pic on the far left is Bungie's© trademark easter egg of the symbol Marathon©. The symbol is constructed in the island chains and is shown in a degraded state. Center is an illustration of my cloud design. The clouds are built not on the surface but one layer above. All the pieces are connected! Right is an easter egg from Halo2™ showing the Bungie© designer Chris Carney in the clouds.

One of the things I wanted to try differently in my V.2 model was the addition of a damaged (or under construction) section of the ring. I for one am pleased with the results.

The outer detail of the ring was a combination of both planed pieces and accidental discoveries. Using the back of some bricks allowed for detail to form.

One of two of my personal touches on the ring was a hurricane in the 4th quadrant of the ring. The other addition was the Marathon™ egg.

All sections of the ring are connected forming a perfect circle. ...getting all the angles right was a pain!!!

Another view of the complete installation
I am a huge fan of Forerunner architecture and their Mega structures. My next creation will also be Forerunner and is already in progress. I would love to here the communities request for anything Forerunner, built or not. I guarantee as much accuracy and detail as possible. Comment any request, critiques, praise, ect...
As always thanks for looking and God bless!

BLAM!, but that is one spiffy ring. I have only the highest praise for this MOC, Reclaimer. How wonderous it would be to actually build it.I wonder how structurally sound it would be. Amazing! |

Hey, I say your Ark and I just love the way you build these! It must take forever placing each stud for the landscape though.. I saw that you are taking requests for new forerunner megastructures to build, right? Have you heard of the hollow forerunner planets? Like the one in Halo Wars? That would be o cool if you could build one that would separate in two halves or hinge open or something? All i know about color is that they are all deserty and barren on the outside, save a few oceans that have huge opening doors to get to the inside, have a thick, technological "crust" to the inside, featured in the levels "Repairs" and "Cleansing". And have normal geography on the inside.. like clouds, oceans, deserts, and forests... etc... sorry if this comment was too long, but I had to explain it for building reference |

Awesome MOC, dude! That's the best Halo ring I've seen in LDD, great work on all the details. I really like the rain shadow effect you have with the mountains. Also the face in the clouds is a neat touch, never noticed that in the game. Excellent rendering!
Thank you both! |
