MocOlympics Round 2 Dylan B. vs Chas Irish
About this creation

Round 2
Group 1E
Classic Spacetle
The one and the only Chas Irish.
Main picture was a little gift from Chas, thanks a lot Chas!

If you are viewing this page you have most likely clicked on the wrong link, and if you are reading this you are likely to waste 5 minutes out of your life. If you are brave you will press on into the abyss and well, anyway take a took...

Background story: For many years the castle and space builders here on MOCpages have always wanted to fight each other in battle. One day the commanders found and attacked the secret castle base. Pictured here are the events during the course of the battle. Based off false events.

The great guard tower and parts of the battle. (note that the images from this battle are taken at just one corner of the entire castle base.)

The leader of the clones. If you can't guess who this is, then you really haven't been paying any attention around here.

Crashed space ship in the wall of the castle.

The grand tower, and wait who is that at the top?

None other than the dazed and confused Professor Eggplant, leader of the castle people. (No wonder why they are loosing the war) Now I don't plan to give the gruesome details on this part of the war but... Professor Eggplant was getting a little nervous about future things still unknown. I shouldn't be telling you that he was so nervous that he smoked his pipe so hard that it burst into flames instantly frying his gooey brain. Without his brain to support him the Professor just laid on the ground sucking his thumb.

The horses, which I think are a cool addition to this MOC. Kind of half horse and half space ship. I call it a Sporse.

What is this sticky web doing here?

An ODST? I've gone mad to be sure.

Here we join our space heros Commander Goo and Commander Marty54.

Commander Marty54: "Dude, is that my venator? That #%@# castle @$%# is...(beeped for your safety)...All my hard earned smilies are flying away."

Dylan B. "No I wasn't kidding, his smiles are really flying away."

Smilies: "Were free."

Commander Marty54: " Your dead!"

hmm...

Dylan B. "Yeah, I don't know either"

Final shot of the entire build.

More info:
I really enjoyed this build because I was able to experiment with a subject that I'm really familiar with and one I'm not so familiar with. This build has a lot of simple but very useful and effective techniques. It's a very simple build that I completed over the weekend in about 8 hours. BUT most of all I wanted to have some fun with this one by adding in some jokes, and that is what this really is all about anyway.

Concluding Statements:
Well that is it, I would like to wish my friend
Chas Irish. the best of luck in this round and a big thanks to our judges. Hope you enjoyed it!

-Dylan

Thanks for your comment! In my opinion, I think you, JD and I are the most improved TFOLs on this site. Let's just keep getting better and better. I mean, after all, we have to become AFOLs one day and we'll have to be an example to future TFOLs.

lol, that's a totally cool build man. I love the Sporse! I'm glad I'm not judging this as you and Chas have both build great mocs both with your own unique interpretation of Classic Spastle. Well done!

After being freed from the Venator, the smilies drifted through space, to a distant galaxy. There, they found a computer, with this moc on the screen and so they decided to rest here. Great job, and nice castle thing =)

really great! but obviously space would win. they would have lasers, warships, stronger armour and more! 1 warship would probably be bigger than a whole castle.

Dylan, first let me say this is an amazing build. I really like how you have integrated so many elements into this scene. I really wanted to give you my vote, but your opponent's build had such a stark and desolate look to it, that it captured my attention and held it. Chas took my vote on this one, but it was close - smokin' build man. Lee.

Classic Spacetle is the mixture of Castle and Classic Space. http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?qc=lego/system/space/classic Your MOC has space in it, just not classic space.

Quoting joseph phillips . oh o.k. sorry but do u think my mocs r any good cus some kids at school think they r d-u-m-b-
I don't think that any MOC is "dumb." There is god and bad things about every MOC ever made, as Keith Goldman puts it. I'm going to have to ask you to please stop making conversations on this MOC, due to the fact that I'm getting "extra smiles for no apparent reason." I hope you understand, -Dylan

Quoting joseph phillips . hey dylan r u going to add me as a fav builder or did u change your mind?
Joesph, I don't add people to my favorite builders unless I've know them well enough and that they can produce spectacular MOCs. It this point I don't know you so I really can't add you. Maybe in the future sometime if I get to know you a little better. -Dylan

Quoting Chas Irish How come you didn't make any Classic Space?
I felt that combining that with castle would add for a better creativity rating, rather than just putting a simple spaceship flying around or something of that nature. I'm not sure exactly what you mean with that question, I see a lot of space present here, even though it is mixed in with the castle stuff.

You've got a tough match-up here Dylan, but your entry is really strong so good luck to you. The castle is great, as I have come to expect from you, but the sporses, floating tower and trees are all very cool elements too. Love the humour and cameos from your other MOCs, but i don't know if that may detract away from some people's opinion of what the theme is about. I hope not because it's great and you should be proud of it.

This is a great MOC. The floating stuff makes it feel like we're in orbit... So much action! Even has a rocket ships flying into building. Good luck with the two judges. Not that my vote matters, but I would go with this one. Almost lost me though with the non-Lego pieces.

In addition to my previous comment, I would like to say that your 'sporses' were a stroke of genius!

Both entries were really... REALLY good. In then end I had to go with your opponents entry. The Megablox horse wasn't the deciding factor of course... but it didn't help. Sorry man but you have a VERY solid entry so it could go either way. Good luck with the other judges. ~ Chris.

A very interesting MOC with a lot going on. I do feel that it lacks a bit of the 'classic' feel to most parts though.

This is just magnificant. I like the way you made the water by just putting many light blue studs. One thing I really didn't understand was the first paragraph about clicking something wrong, wasting 5 minutes that stuff. Awesome work though. ~ Ghostman :)
