Amidst the giant lumbering beasts in my city the Empire State Building and the Apartment blocks, you'll often find a tiny beat-up building or two. Six, actually. Here are some of them.
About this creation
The six buildings consist of two apartment buildings, a diner, and three buildings that have stores downstairs and apartments upstairs. The smallest of the apartments is actally under the stairwell in one of the buildings. :) It was even too small to get a photo of, unfortunately. The diner has a dumpster out back.

What's Inside

There is a small diner with a short-order cook, as well as several apartments.

Design Notes

The three buildings are built on two 8x32 stud baseplates, so that they hinge apart in unison. two magnets hold them together - one on the first floor of the red apartment, and the other on the roof of the yellow one. (Cleverly hidden amongst the air conditioners & whatnot.)

Real lights

The buildings are all illuminated with real electric lights, although I dont have a photo that shows it off too well. There's 1 light in each building.

Here's a close-up of three of them. They were inspired by some of the run down "pizza joints" that I saw in my old college town. Most had some kind of beat-up store or fast food downstairs, and an apartment or two upstairs.

The cook in the diner doesn't look like he knows what he's doing...

Something about this really inspired me. It's 6:30am and I just finished working on three buildings for my city. One resembles your red building on the end. Very New York. I love it.

It's certainly, well interesting, I don't know if its that great. Actually I think it could have benifited with some graffiti on the wall. Mebe print out some stickers or something and paste them on... that is if you haven't taken the models apart yet. That reminds me though: Do you take your models apart, or do you just buy more bricks at walmart and make new creations? Email me! Once again, however, this is a very good model. Great Job!
