They can bash away all they want. I’m not coming out -- not after what happened. If they try to come in, well, I’m waiting for them. They might get me, but I'll get some of them too . . .
MEANWHILE . . .
I Company, 69th Infantry Regiment.
Situation Report

It has been three months since the missiles reduced our cities to ruin. The terror we felt those initial days has been reduced to horror at what unrestricted nuclear war has done to our world. Entire civilizations, entire cultures were wiped out. At first glance, it would seem no one could survive the hell the cities became.
But some did. It’s our job to find them, supply them with food and water, and bring them to medical for treatment when necessary. We were able to distribute our supplies to the camp just inside the ruined city, and we are sweeping through quadrant 47-W for survivors.
My thoughts often drift when on such a mission, thinking of Jane and the boys and thanking God I had taken early retirement and gone to live in the mountains a month before the bombs fell. I had no choice but crawl back in uniform; most of the active forces were wiped out in the initial moments.
My God, what could have happened to bring about this apocalypse?
THREE MONTHS EARLIER
“Sanora, Harrison – maintain the hold on the launch drill until after technicians deactivate the warheads and give us the all clear.”
“Yes, sir!”
“Harrison, what’s the status on the Earthquakers in bay nine?”
“Lemme check . . . “
“Sanora?”
“Yes?”
“You know, I was thinking that since I’m near the end of my enlistment and getting out soon, this might be a good time for you and I to have dinner together.”
“And just what makes you think I’d want to have anything to do with you, Mr. Civilian-to-be?”
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe it’s just the way you look at me . . . OOOPS!”
"OMIGOD, what have you done! A full-loaded battery of Earthquaker nukes are going to take out all of Asia! We’re DOOMED!”
It was just a few minutes after that when she tried to take her own life. I was able to pin the launch on her, hoping that if she did come out of the coma she’d be a vegetable. Guess I was wrong . . . .
CLANK!

“OPEN UP AND FACE WHAT YOU’VE DONE, HARRISON!”
Notes and other crap:
Believe it or not, this actually started out as a joke. While the original concept was funny, I couldn't figure out a way to make this come out humorous. Also, the tracked vehicle and ruins were not part of the original idea, but became necessary once I started shaping up the story of what happened in the bunker. Yes, what should have been a couple of pleasant hours with my bricks became three evenings of bashing my head against a table screaming.
Let me state for the record: I hate the whole "Zombies are trying to take over the world" vision of post apoc, and modified "zombie hunter" figs are even worse. Everybody knows that after the apocalypse the troops from planet Moro will arrive, and you DO NOT want to mess with the Morons.
Let me leave you with another shot of the tracked vehicle, just because I couldn't resist.
Well, for what it's worth it's an entry. Best of luck to Jibsstudios and all the other competitors. I'd like to say this was a fun one to do, but I'd be lying my little cotton socks off.

Oh, yes - please let the MOC speak for itself. Your pen is mighty, my friend. In terms of wit, humor, and anything else verbal, I stand not a chance. (I hope I didn't just egg you into writing a masterpiece). I have picked out my movie, but I need a night or two of tinkering until I'm positive "it's the one." |

Sombre, yet very cool. As much as I love zombies (just as friends you understand) it's nice that the post-apoc entries i've seen are zombie-free. Good work. |

I don't know which was funnier-the moc or the notes! Great stuff man. Somehow I can see the human race going down that way...Also, I agree on teh zombies thing. Everyone knows zombies don't feel no pain-post apoc vehicles are much cooler maiming the LIVING!! |

That guy's going to get it! Easier for him if he fell on his rifle, you know what I mean. Hey, I gotta red strip and a control panel in my new moc too! guess this would be a good time to inform everyone on MOCpages that I'm essentially colorblind when comes to distinguishing shades of similar colors.
