Moc Olympics Round 3, Group 2: Ribbits M vs. Legolord
Wow, I can hardly believe I made it this far! Round 3 already, and we're down to, what, like 1/3 of the starting number? Now, to be honest, I wasn't expecting this theme (Suburban clones). I'd forgotten it existed... Even though I didn't have anything planned or even though out, I think my entry came out okay.
About this creation
My opponent, Legolord, can be found here. Best of luck!

Now, for this scene, let's start at the bottom. Here we have the power miner equivalent of Rambo about to give these rock monters the lunch they've always wanted. A nice appetizer of lead salad followed by tender flame-broiled human, with gunmetal for dessert.

Let's get a closer look at what I've dubbed the 'Rock Monster Barbecue'. I'm assuming it's some kind of holiday in this scene, or everyone would be at work.

Because who doesn't like watching former members of their own species roasting over an open barrel fire?

Seeing as this entry required clones, let's get on with that. As you can imagine, being in the Grand Army of the Republic doesn't teach you many life skills besides how to blow stuff up. And that, my friends, is a basic human instinct. Now, if you combine a bunch of guys who don't know anything except how to blow stuff up and shoot moving targets with a park, then you get a bunch of REALLY PO'd park rangers.

Now, as you can imagine, these guys would be hungry on their vacation. What better way to eat than to eat free food, and what better way to catch it than by shooting it and/or blowing it up? And what better animal to do this to than fish! Fish live in an enclosed environment for brick's sake! It's like... shooting fish in a barrel! Now, these two don't know it's a man-made lake. Meaning, no fish. They also don't know that the Power Miners don't know that there's a lake above their tunnels. Recipe for disaster? You bet!

And here is a dramatic shot of our really PO'd park ranger. Note the chainsaw. What kind of Park Ranger carries a chainsaw to scare the bejeezus out of guests, you may ask. Well, as you can imagine, Clones have seen some pretty scary stuff in their line of duty, so you need something even scarier to keep them in line. Let's face it: A guy flying at you with a running chainsaw is pretty darn scary.

That's all for now folks! Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to grab your complimentary femur on the way out!

This is a great build, but I think LL captured the spirit of the category a lot better than you did. You outbuilt him, but I am going to have to give him my vote for the theme. Good luck with the others! ~dave

Indeed a truly goody, goody build, but as far as Suburban goes (said from a European Judge...people, please...) LegoLord got the theme in a nutshell! My vote goes to him! Thanks for playing!

I'm going to have to agree with Dave on this one. A very good build, and perhaps a bit better than LL's as far as complexity goes. But he's got you by a fair bit in the concept for this particular theme. That said, my vote's also for Legolord. Nice work, but it's time to say goodnight. Hit the showers!

Thank you all! @Stuart: I suppose it would, wouldn't it? @John: Thank you very much! @Freela/Brickfan: They are indeed. It'll put a little bit of a damper on the barbecue, but they'll be getting a free pool. I'd say that's worth it.

Those rock monsters could end up with a swimming pool in their own living room! This is a creation that seperates the average person from the comedian. Great job!

Yeah Chris. You don't even have to hit 'em right? The shock wave kills them. Oh yeah, excellent work on the build.

Nice builds - I say builds because even with the manmade lake/ fishing with explosives link it's almost two different cool little scenes. Good luck.

Huh, I didn't realize they had... I still think fishing with an SMG would be way more fun. And thank you, it was fun to think of ways to torture my resident clones.

You know, Mythbusters did that whole "shooting fish in a barrel" thing... anyway, NICE entry and best of luck to ya! ~ Chris.

Thank you, it was fun to build! And thanks for the comments on Flickr, it's nice to hear about some of the shots that don't have as many comments!

WOW!!! I am absolutely astonished. Even though it's a humorous creation, the attention to detail is still phenomanal! Psst...your my first contact on Flickr...yay!

To be honest, there really isn't a definite one. I was just trying to add to the mischief going on, and I thought it'd be funnier if there was the possibility of the clones sinking the park.

Nice, but... I don't get the connection with the little power miners scene at the bottom. Great build, though!

I build fast when excited/nervous. It's a fairly simple scene though, so it didn't take very long. Best of luck to you too! And thank you Luc, I really appreciate it!
