Micro-version of the German WWII PzKpfw V (Panter) NEW version, new photos.

About this creation

I have had certain details pointed out to me, so I have decided to revise the construccion. These photos are of the new version. (PzKpfw V Ausf. D)

Micro-scale approximatly 1:70. (No, I simply can´t manage to shrink it down to the popular 1:72 scale ;-)
Great care has been put into making the silhouette (profile) and the wheel-arrangement as correct as possible.
Unfortunatly I could not find a way to do the turret right.

In my opinion the Panther was probably the BEST all-round tank of the whole WWII. -Although prone to serious technical problems early on, and not as famous as the Tiger, I think post war after-math shows that its excellently sloped armour and it's advanced technique and manuverbility made it the very best of all tanks in the war.

Although still "only" 6(7)-wide, this tank is HUGE compared to the PzKpfw IV. I dont know if this is correct. I think I tried to follow meassurements to scale, but maybe somebody more in the know could comment on the size comparison?

The tracks are not quite wide enough to scale. They should be 1,5 studs wide (which of course doesnt exist in LEGO.) I've tried to make photos that doesnt show this little error too much.

When I first started out on my WWII micro series, I wanted to do the biggest tank possible with my limited set of tracks. That was the PzKpfw IV series.
Later I discovered a way to hide missing chain-links in order to make bigger tanks. The photo below shows the trick.

SWEET! You got the side veiw almost perfect (I wish the back of the turret was at a more even slant, not blocked). Thanks for the tip on the treads, I am making a Tiger V2 that lacks alot of treads, Ill ty this trick. The Panzer V was probably the best strategic tank of the war, but it just cant match the tactical superiority of the Tiger, whos reputation speaks for itself. =)
