Type VIIC u-boat (continued)
This is the second set of pictures for my Type VIIC u-boat. the rest of the interiof photos will be put on later. The main photo is of the propellors and the rudders, along with the stern hydroplanes.
About this creation

This is a shot of the after torpedo tube. I didn't have enough of the correct pieces to make it look smoother, but it doesn't matter.

The first interior shot, the torpedo room. It took me a while to figure out how to make the tubes.

The bunks and the utilities follow next. The toilet should be white, not grey. Oh well. The bunks were supposed to have a different piece on the edge to prevent the person sleeping there form falling out.

Next is the radio and hydrophone operator. On a real u-boat, the radio, hydrophone, and medic would be only one person. That means he had three jobs.

Next is my favorite room, the control room. You probably can't see the back wall too good, but there is a chart table and a fire extinguisher back there.

Some more bunks for the crew members who work in the after section of the boat. This is where I put the red pieces for the bunks!

The officer's mess, which includes the first officer's bunk on the other side. The captain's bunk is on the other side of the radio operator's station.
Last picture for this set is the galley where food was prepared. I accidentally made it too big, I was supposed to put another bathroom in there and make the galley smaller

Quoting Pete Franklin I've found with lego U-boats that if you want to do one...do interior or exterior, not both. The problem is the minifigs and generally the nature of lego blocks. you cant usually depict the cramped or cluttered interior of a u-boat and keep it all in proportion to both the minifigs and the U-boat exterior. I love the interior effort, but the exterior seems to lag behind a bit.
I agree, I didn't put too much thought into the outside. Oh well.
