U.N.E. AF-23 Fighter-Interceptor
Developed to attack and destroy Coalition drop pod reinforcements and small transports. These fighter craft were used extensively in the battle of the planet Mons, destroying enemy drop pods reinforcing the Coalition position. Though the ship appears armored much of the armor is for defending it from the amount of G forces exerted upon the interceptor. The guns as well are literally buried into the fighter to keep them from being torn off at great speeds. A small amount of these interceptors have been fitted with extra weapons and fielded as tank destroyers

Quoting Areetsa C So, this is that fighter you were going on about. Point seventy of an inch.. that's around 15mm, isn't it? Technically a machinegun, but it's midway between an MG and an autocannon so I guess your terminology is correct. I suppose you have unobtainium inertial dampeners to protect the pilot? Presumably he has some kind of holographic 3d all-around visual system, otherwise he wouldn't be able to see what was going on. Explosive AP ammunition for the cannons would be a must, in order to penetrate the pod shielding. Quite a good model. The canards are a bit stubby, but I suppose that's intentional.
my idea was for a small super armored fighter so i ditched aerodynamics to get that look. and the ammo is AP incendiary so it detonates any spare ammunition the pod is carrying the pilots display is mounted on his helmet visor which is called a HMD

That's a sweet little interceptor. My only suggestion would be to ditch the Star Wars guns and make your own, as they usually look better.

That is awesome!!! A really great fighter but unfortunately I do have to agree with Areetsa and his defense turrets. A fighter would only be able to target so many pods in one fly by as opposed to a turret system that can lock onto all the targets and fire on each one. Still a good fighter since it has to be fast it would still work as a superiority fighter.

GREAT work! I will happily fund a portion of the credits needed to mass-produce these!
