Your favorite Michael J. Fox movie from 1986 in Lego.
About this creation
Round 3, Group 1
Category: Guess the movie
Opponent: Dennis Price
The dialogue is a little sparse through the scene I chose. Just imagine the moving soundtrack.

"Great Scott!"
"Doc!"
"What?"
"I have to tell you about the future! On the night I go back..." (bell rings)
"Look at the time! You have less than four minutes!" (Marty peels out)

"Aah!"

(Crash! Boom!)

"Doc."

"Yooooo! Ha-ha!

Now you can enjoy looking around town while I fit in unrelated quotes.
"You're a slacker! Do you want to be a slacker for the rest of your life?"
"Save the clock tower!"

"Hello! Hello! Is anyone home? Think, McFly. Think! There has got to be something clever you can say about this MOC!"

"That was the day I invented time travel. I remember it vividly. I was standing on the edge of my toilet, hanging a clock, the porcelain was wet, I slipped and hit my head on the sink, and when I came to, I had a revelation! A vision! A picture in my head! A picture of this. This is what makes time travel possible. The flux capacitor..."
"Are you telling me this sucker is nuclear?"
"No, it's electrical. I need a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity I need."

I used this picture as a reference. Now let's play a game. How many differences can you spot?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
My notes: I had fun making this scene. Making the Delorean mini-fig scale was a challenge. I really liked building the clock tower. I'm not really a Back to the Future expert, but I wouldn't mind seeing some quotes!
Thanks to my wife for taking the pictures, through two gruelling photo sessions. The second was my favorite. That's the one where my 1-year old son was eating my lightning and trees (really - I had to fish them out of his mouth several times) and playing 'Godzilla' with my town.
Looking for Dennis' entry? Here it is.

That is amazing. I'm surprised you didn't say "forgive the crudity of this model, I didn't have time to paint it or to build it to scale". It would have fit perfectly. |

And it's Wes with a well-deserved win! It's all a great build, but the flame trail for some reason is my favorite bit. Dunno why. So, to help you out with the whole Holy Grail quote thing, I'll give you one that sums up what my MOC says when it sees yours: "Run away! Run away!" |

"Whoa that's heavy." It was one heck of a battle. Dennis made me laugh out loud but your build and heavy nostalgia trip put it over for me. Do you know just how badly I wanted a hoverboard when I was a kid? Good luck with the other judges! ~ Chris. |
