Built for a contest on SSLF
About this creation
The Rubber Band Starfighter was my answer to SSLF's "Useless Parts Contest #1: The Rubber Band Holder". I needed to make a ship, but I also quite wanted to enter the contest. I had a lack of engines pieces and, lo and behold!

Landing gear folded down (Only the first pic as it was not in the right order on Brickshelf).

Here she is, the Rubber Band Starfighter. I still need to think of a better name, such as the RBR Band-Class Starfighter, or the Rub-Band Interceptor or something.

The guns at the front. I was trying out some different camera andles and stuff. The reason for the colour scheme is that I originally was making this for the Perfect Ship build in the Elite boards. Then, I thouhgt I could intergrate it into this contest

and here they are! The Rubber-Band Holders used as... engines! Yes, I couldnt find engines for the Perfect Ship, I spotted some rubber Band holders and set to work.

Here you can see the greebly, technic connections. Engines fuel pipes and stuff. It is all symettrical, woth a perfect colour scheme.

Yeah... well the cockpit does open, like the A-Wing. But it does leave a gaping hole in the Fuselage. You can see it in the top photo. If you want to know why I used Trans-red slops? Well - I have loads, and no solid red slopes.

You can see it here, to tell you the truth. I filled it in white so it didn't detract from the colour cheme or anything.

Here, you can see the small, cool landing gear. The ship was too small for clicky joint landing gear, so I thought - What would a good LEGO builder do? Make some cool original landing gear method!

It folds up for flight in all its symmetrical, colour co-ordinated spent-ages-shifting-to-find-clips glory.
