I've encountered a massive error of judgement on my would-be birthday MOC. Now I come before you MOCpages, seeking your council.
About this creation
Good morning, afternoon, or evening, veiwer. So there I was, half soaked from a speedy bike ride home, sitting in my ice cold room, racing to finish my COP version of Warhammer's 1337 h4x Titan. I had to have it done soon, my deadline was drawing near. I seperated the body from the legs, it was too unstable and the wrong angle for building. After a few straight hours of work, it was done. I put it on, and the lower leg joined buckled under the weight. That was my first clue. Then, after reinforcing them, I stood back... and nearly died. My long hours of work were ruined by my own haste.

Sure it stands by itself, but it looks frakking weird. The body is too big for the legs! What should I do?

Scrap the body or the legs? I'm personally leaning towards body, but I don't know.

"THE STYLE OF THIS WALKERS IS IN YOUR HANDS, MOCPAGES. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SCRAP THE BODY, YOU SHALL HAVE A LARGER (SCALE WISE), REAVER-CLASS LIKE WALKER. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SCRAP THE LEGS, YOU SHALL HAVE A BLOCKIER, WARHOUND LIKE WALKER. THE CHOICE IS YOURS."

Fun but-not-really facts:

It's my birthday tomorrow (September 30th). This was gonna be my birthday MOC, but than this happened.

I don't know if you plan on making a second version of this at one point, but I'm preferring the body rather than the legs at the moment, except the feet. The legs just look too spindly to support the bulky body, you need something shorter and stouter. And I prefer the Warhound look to the Reaver.

Hey man, I had the exact same problem with my first attempt at a Warhound, the legs just couldn't bare it up. My second go around was much more successful however. I built it much smaller, which meant much less hefty. I don't think I have any pictures of my first Warhound on Mocpages, if you wanted to see that you'd have to click the flickr link on my main-page, but I've uploaded my latest Warhound to Mocpages, if you care to see how I did it, go and take a look!

Great creation. I like it the way it is, but if I had to choose between the body and legs, I would say, SCRAP THE BODY! It looks a bit to blocky and bulky, I'm sure you could smooth it out a bit.

its awesome allready and i would say leave it as it is but in this case i say... erm ... well ... i em ... SCRAP THE BODY, ITS GOOD BUT A BIT OVERSISED. Keep the content (dual miniguns.etc) but made it smaller.

happy happy birthday, to you! now for the mecha, i suggest that you take the body off. it looks a little box compared to the legs. also, at maybe on more stud in length around the top of the legs because it looks flimsy. but keep the feet, they are a very interesting, and cool design. hope this helps! :)

Happy birthday Awesome! May you receive many gifts on this day. :]

I would work on the legs. make them more blockier. Or. It might just be easier to make a dreadnought kinda thing :)

I wouldn't tear apart the legs, I would just bulk them up.

why don't you take it all apart and make two kinda cop-district 9 minifig size mechs
  September 30, 2009
Why not just build two mechs?

no keep those jackal like legs, reminds me somewhat of a wolf, maybe thin the shoulders and top then thin it down as it goes to the waist, those are my ideas

Quoting Knoll grey happy birthday. ive been playing 40k for 10 some odd years, so if there is anyone qualified to answer its me. the body needs to go, but the legs really need to be bulked up. warhounds are difficult to make because the proportions for the body and legs are very hard to recreate. the head needs to be redone completely, it shouldnt be attachd to the body and the gun need to be a smidge bigger. if you keep the body (i dont know why you would) you need to slim it down a lot, it is far too wide. the head should also look more like an 18 wheeler cab also. in my personal opinion you should build an imperitor or, god forbid, a castigator for some real originality. dark angels ftw.
Thanks for the advice, but I'm not going for exact Titan here, just the style and whatnot. But I'll take your words into consideration.

today???:o you should of told me, dang.
  September 30, 2009
This is great I say don't "scrap" either make new legs for the body, and a new body for the legs. You will have 2 mechs! That is just my input in this situation. I won't rate till final version. This isn't a creation.

Well, just change the bend in the legs to be lower and make the legs a bit fatter. OR, I say scrap the legs but keep the feet/lower part of the legs. I think that would look better. Then again, it would be cool to see a thinner mech... I dunno, it looks awesome, but you're right, it stands w31rdly. Great mech, and have an awesome birthday, pun intended. :D

Legs definitely, listen to the mech boy Awe! You've gotta make it just a bit more thick with the legs. Don't look at Warhammer for this part, go for Brian Kescenovitz! His Dawn Forge stuff always stands easily and they have great technique on large legs. Snotty somtimes, but thats good for your style. Happy Birthday too, I've got a MOC for you coming soon!

re build the legs, they require a more sturdy body! ive had that difficulty before in the Nimrod, reinforcing the legs to add more stability and having a good connection to the torso will do the trick, oh and Happy Birthday =D!!!

Quoting Ribbits M I'd say scrap the body and modify those legs. If you really want the warhound effect, I'd highly recommend giving it bigger shins. And as for the body, definately scrappage. Try to make the weapons boxes a tad less bulky and the head a bit larger.
Actually, boxy and bulky is exactly what I'm trying to convey here.

If you have the parts, do both. Make a new slimmer body for the legs and new bulkier legs for the existing body.
