MOColympics Round 4 - Crimso Giger vs Amber Flor
MOColympics Round 4 : Crimso Giger vs Amber Flor - Category : Legowear
About this creation
Link to my honorable opponent : Amber Flor

This category has been a nightmare for me but also a really interesting challenge. I'm not interested at all in clothes (I bet I had the Grunge look long before Nirvana...) so I was really disapointed... I spend hours in brainstorming, thinking to make an helmet, a hat, or even boots... But still this wasn't really interesting in my opinion. Finally, I found an idea that allowed me to express my skills and imagination : a BIG collection of pendants ! I've made 25 of them, in various style, some are pretty simple and some are much more bigger and complicated. Hope you'll like them !

Some overall shots :

As you can imagine, it's obviously not me on the pics, but my lovely darling, Julie. Thanks you my love ;-)

I'm almost sure I'll lost this Round, but anyway it was really fun. Today is my birthday (I'm now 32) and I'm waiting for a 200 $ order on Bricklink, so even if I don't win I won't be too sad. I've also got some new MOCs to upload so stay tuned guys, and thanks for watching !

This is impressive work in a very hard category. Many people could build something out of Lego that looks like clothing. But you have managed to build things (not ALL of the pendants, but enough of them) that I could see people actually wearing out in public. I am blown away, and glad the judges saw it that way as well.

Well done Crimso, and a belated happy birthday! Love the tribal influence of these. I hope you've found a new job by the way (I've been lucky enough to get one that i start in November) but even if not, $200 on Bricklink should keep you smiling for a while! Good luck as you advance.

Quoting Marcus Forsberg Great idea and beautiful outline! Congrats to round five. I haven't seen the roster, but my dream final scenario is you vs. Steef. That would be something!
Thanks Marcus ! But there's very few chance that I meet Steef, even if the case I could win Round 5 ;-)

Thanks everybody for the kind words and cheers to Mark who allowed me to reach Round 5 (it's like a dream to be in the last 8 opponents - But I'm also sad for all the great builders that lost in Round 4 and in the previous rounds, so I'll try to do something good for Round 5, to really deserves the honor to be still in the game !)

Happy birthday Crimso!!! Excellent build techniques! I like how you made the pendants interchangable. And the Native American influence is fantastic! I'm really impressed your girl sat through all that though! What a champ! LOL Good luck in the competition!

Happy birthday man. A series of lovely pendants to be sure, and they look especially nice supported by your lovely lady's...ummmm....neck. However, due to the concept of the stiletto (not the whale tail), I had to go with Amber's build. Best of luck. Lee.

yeah, you went above and beyond here. There seemed to have been some native american influence in some of the design, which is a nice touch. I think this will be a close race. A thong would have put you over the top. LEGO pasties may have also gotten you the win. ~dave

Quoting Chris Phipson First Crimso, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Ok, now comes the "other" part. People are going to think that I based my decision on that final shot of Amber, but I'm being honest here, this was "shoe vs necklace" for me. While your pendants were all very cool, I had to go with concept. Had you made those boots you were talking about, I think I woulda gone with you, as it stands however, the stiletto heel gets my vote. Sorry my man and good luck with the other judges! ~ Chris.
No problem Chris ! Amber's entry is very cool ! And as I said, if I loose, it will be time for Zorg to make a great come back - And beware, Suntron arrives soon too :-)

A wide variety certainly can't hurt your chances with the judges, but the builds themselves are stunning. I wouldn't be caught dead in any of them (I wear my wedding ring and, while working, a wristwatch). Great work here -- I know plenty of ladies who'd wear some of these!

I agree with Garth! Looking at the first pic, i thought it was a cool miniscale fleet. Only when i started reading and scrolling down did i know they were pendants.

Hehe. I had a feeling you'd somehow manage to integrate the Zorg style into this one. I was half-expecting you to do jewelery, while the other side of me expected you to do some classic space moon boots. Very impressive, Crimso! And happy Birthday! I hope you got at least a few rattling presents! Good day

Wow, that was beyond expectations. I think this is VERY good. And, most important: I think this is wearble IRL too. Most of your creations have a bit of a 'tribal' look to them, which I like (my living room: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mediocre/538463980/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/mediocre/538622550/ :D), and I think it works well here too.
