Steam artillery
Steampunk mobile artillery
About this creation
This MOC is like the little house I did before - unplanned, random and weird (for me). There are a few steampunk creations around, and I have to say that they are intresting, really! And as upgrading and polishing Triffid made me mad, I just had to do sth unusual.

So, a steampunk creation. What will it be? What should it look like? How to do it? What style should it be? I didn't know answers to any of those questions. Full random, that's all.

After making some random mechanism pieces, I decided that the model will be sth like mobile artillery, which uses air-pressured cannon istead of classical powder one. There are modern AP cannons that have loong range, so it would be possible to do this some centuries ago.

The model is quite functional. Cannon can be lifted up/down using a lever, steering mechanism works, some tools are in the chest and there are lots of smaller levers around.

No armor, ok, but this is not front-line machine - it has to go to the battlefield, shoot, and when dangered - quickly flee.

To young builders: Take a closer look on water tank (that gray vertical-striped barrel). You won't see it anymore... as this is very old, almost ancient, 4.5 Volt engine. However it is not attached to wheels now, but it would be possible.

The driver(?... operator maybe?) is now adjusting the cannon...

...pulling the lever raises the cannon...

   ...and pushung lowers.

And now a test of steering. The artillery unit has even civilised steering wheel with reduced gear. ^^

   Right...

If the cannon is powder-less, then hand-weapon should be, too. (The real reason is that I have no adventurers sets so I have no rifles and guns :D)

   Little repair...
