My rendition of the Freelancer very heavy fighter "Hammerhead". The Bounty Hunter AP-8050 Hammerhead Very Heavy Fighter is the starship of choice for elite bounty hunter pilots. Not the most powerful very heavy fighter, but one with the most interesting design, imo.
About this creation
Desperate times call for desperate measures, in this case desperate designs. "The Hammerhead" is the result of years of work by the Bounty Hunters Guild to improve upon the traditional AP line. Its armor and power ratings have been elevated to peak levels to deliver a greater advantage to Bounty Hunters in the field.

The AP-8050 Hammerhead Bounty Hunter Very Heavy Fighter is the one of the so-called "basic" very heavy fighters available, with reduced armor and less advanced weapon mounts when compared to the others. Fortunately, it has a fairly high turning rate, which is comparable with the civillian Eagle.
Instead of having the usual 8/10 combos on the other VHFs, this one has the 8/9 instead, making it somewhat similar to the Centurion HF for the Corsairs. It is not recommended to purchase this fighter for its power. While it can turn as fast as a CTE-6000 Eagle and costs less, it is twice as large, has less armor, and worse weapons when compared to the Eagle.
Side view of my first completely studless creation.
Back of the fighter with its twin engines. Iīm really glad how close to the original they turned out.
Eat my exhaust fumes!
Generic 3/4 view. (Sorry for the a little blurry pics, my cam seems to be going to nirvana.)
Aiming at you with 6 guns and one torpedo launcher. Beware!
One side of the cargo hold opened, revealing the pilots silenced sniper rifle. Oh, the scope fell off.
Opened all up. Donīt put something on the striped places, or it will be squished while closing the doors.
Some shots of the comfortable cockpit featuring a panorama window, a red leather-seat and a combat information/recording system(dark gray binocular pieces). The system is projecting a holographic HUD into the window and recording your spectacular pursuits. Excellent for showing off when hanging around with other bounty hunters.
Some standard equipment of most Freelancer ships:
A countermeasure dropper and...
... a mine dropper.
It also features a backwards firing turret.
Iīve built in a version of my G.A.I.A emblem with modified colours.
Thruster...
...and shield emitter.
A little, hidden place for some greebling.
The pilot and his second best friend. The first is his ship, of course.
A closer look at the engines.
The guns mounted on the lower wing and the trans-clear parts supporting the main hull. Without it the main section of the ship would hang down, because it is simply too heavy.
Detailed view of the guns and the shipīs headlights.
The reflection on the main bodyīs headlight looks like they really work.
