This is in Berchtesgaden, Germany south of Munich. The vehicle is the Famous "KUBELWAGEN" which was the German answer to the Classic American Willy's JEEP. In early 1945 the Americans were moving in and the Germans were moving out ASAP or they were surrendering to avoid ending up in Russian hands!!!! At this time Hitler was in his Bunker in Berlin. Thx for L@@KING TT The KUBELWAGEN was not an easy build and I had to put it down several times and then come back to it. I am gathering the pieces to do one in Desert Color Tan as Rommel used on occassion in Africa.

Hey Tom, I had to come back and visit this piece again. I really like it and look forward to creating my own version here in the near future. I always have to take many of the comments posted with my items with a grain of salt as well. I really like it. excellent job. Your bud, Matt |

I had a feeling you were putting this up just for the Kubelwagen, but I figured I'd go ahead and comment on the background. This is definately among the top three, I cant say exacly where as there are trade offs, e.g. yours is very complicated which gives it more detail, but the front isn't steep enough, where as another is simpler but detailed in its own way, this one is large and a third is probably to small. I see the bikini girl, LOL! Legos are about fun, and I enjoy building with them emimsly, but I think it adds alot to an MOC when these things are super accurate! So yeah... thanks for commenting on mine BTW, I notice you posted a Hummel to, I'm about to check it out. =) |

Pretty good, the Kubelwagen is amazing and does look like it took alot of time. But the MOC istlef really lacks. It just doesnt convey the feeling I get when I think about Hitler's mountain retreat. The Pak anti tank gun in the background really needs some work. Also at the end of the war the German armies were completely descimated and falling back in full retreat, or surrendering left and right. There were litteraly several times more Germans surrenering than there were Americans advancing. This left the road straight open for the Americans, namely the 101st Airborne (if your interested in them read the book "Band of Brothers" you know the one the TV series is based on) to sweep in un challenged. =) |

Tom, that is excellent, I don't think you could have done a better job. The front hood and wheel fenders are to perfection. I think I just got inspired? 5 out of 5 hands down. All the best, Matt |
