This is my model of the 2009 tube stock. This stock is currently being introduced into service on the Victoria Line replacing the 1967 stock, though this is expected to last until 2012 as the trains are replaced 1-for-1. Built by Bombardier at Derby, it is the latest design in the 1992 stock lineage.
I have followed my usual practice of forming a three car unit/train in the DM-T-DM arrangement. One of the DM cars hides the Lego train motor. Although I looked at the 1992 tube stock, I first designed my model of the later 1995ts. This new stock is derived from that design in Lego, incorporating several functionality changes which had been refitted on my '95 after it's being built, due to that being my first tube stock. Much like the '95 it is based around a 5-wide keel of blue plate, with the door areas and cab ends being 6-wide. The cars are semi-permanently coupled. The new style of cab (full)front prevents the fitting of magnetic couplings which would have otherwise enabled it to connect to other tube stocks or my battery locomotive. The car ends include dark bley (i.e. dark bluish grey or dark stone) while the car roofs and floors are old dark grey.
This train was built as part of my Project Lillie (as in the Lillie Bridge PW depot) along with the 1959ts, a Standard stock control trailer car and two more Met 5700 class pannier locos. They all made their debut at the Great Western Lego Show in October 2009, on my East Brickley layout, where these photos were taken.
