Balin's Tomb
Balin's Tomb from The Fellowship of the Ring.
About this creation
Hi guys! Here is my Lego take on Balin's Tomb from the Fellowship of the Ring. This is also my contest entry for 'The Squires Fantasy Literature Contest'. Hope you like it!

Part 1: The Book of Mazarbul

Here is the Fellowship minus Merry and Pippin. The only reason I didn't put them in was that I had run out of Hobbit Materials, and I had a lack of room in the tomb.

Here is Gandalf wearing my selfmade cloak. He is reading from the Book of Mazarbul aloud to the rest of the Fellowship. The book tells of the Dwarves' last stand against the Orcs of Moria: "'We cannot get out. Drums. Drums in the deep.' They are coming..."

Gimli and Boromir

Frodo and Sam

Aragorn and Legolas

Part 2: "They are coming!"

Aragorn and Boromir bar the doors while the rest prepare for battle.

"Let them come! There is one dwarf yet in Moria who still draws breath!" -Gimli

Part 3: The Battle

The orcs break through the rotting doors and attack the Fellowship.

An orc that hopped atop Balin's tomb is cut in half by Gimli's axe. If my memory serves, I believes this was mentioned in the book.

Part 4: Orc Chieftain

After most of the Orcs flee, an Orc chieftain attacks the Fellowship.

The Chieftain stabs Frodo with a spear.

The Chieftain is beheaded by Aragorn.

Part 5: The Tomb without Minifigures

Skeletons of Dwarves and Orcs are scattered about the Tomb.

The Rotting Doors

The Tomb

Part 6: The Minifigures!

Here is Gandalf with my custom Cloak.

The Two Men: Aragorn on the left, Boromir on the Right

The Dwarf and Elf: Gimli and Legolas

Two Hobbits: Sam and Frodo
And no- Frodo's torso is not custom. Its from Harry Potter. :D

Well, that's it! Thanks for viewing! Please leave a comment!

I think it looks great! I just have a little piece of criticism. Frodo doesn't have brown hair and mery and pippin are not there:( other than that i think it's amazing:) good luck in your contest:)

Great work and thanks for writing me a comment! Nice, that the scene, where Frodo was hurt, looks like in the book and not like in the movie.

The cave troll is mentioned but the Fellowship never actually fights one. In the book they fight an orc chieftain.

Nice tomb! This is another one of my favorite scenes from both the motion picture and book versions of "The Fellowship of the Ring"! I would have built this, if I hadn't chosen to do the whole "Weathertop" thing... Good luck with the contest, so far it looks like you and me, only, Pal! Oh! You were correct, the book does tell of Gimli rendering an orks legs from his torso! "Gimli hewed the legs from under another that had sprung up on Balin's tomb." -The Fellowship of the Ring

Very cool. I actually think the mini figs are pretty right on , except Frodo's hair should be dark brown, he should look more frightened or concerned than sinister and Gandalf looks a little evil:) All you need now is a rock-troll! The overall room looks fantastic!~H

Oh no! I was planning to make the Balrog scene too! I think I won't, though. The Balrog is too hard to build...

Oops! lol :P I was going to do the Balrog, but I decided that it would be too big of a project so I turned it into this.

Quoting JB . my favourite scene from my least favourite Lotr books and films and im sure it was a troll that stabs frodo unless you refer to book and i to film
Yeah, In the book it was an Orc Chieftain, unlike in the movie. But there were giant trolls with them, I think Frodo stabbed one's foot through the door. The Fellowship didn't fight any giant trolls in this battle though.

I love it! I like it how you stayed true to the book, and made it a Cheiftain. "...A huge orc-chieftain, almost man-high, clad in black mail from head to foot, leaped into the chamber..." Unfortunately, I was planning to make this! Grrr!

That's amazing! Really nice job! I think you should start expanding it though to include the well thing and if possible buy hobbit supplies off bricklink. 5/5!

I thought the Orc who stabbed Frodo was that big troll-thing-a-ma-bob-er. Maybe that was just in the movie. Well, this is a very nice build. I'm happy to see another LOTR builder!
