My entry (FINALLY) for Yuri Fassio's Spinning Top Contest!
They thought that they could do this. They thought that they were tough, that they could take anything that was thrown at them...
With the rally cry of "Let's do this!" the group climed on and waited for the ride of their lives.
Once the ride began however, all that could be heard were terrified screams and the occasional whimper of "please god, make it stop!"
When the ride was finally, mercifully over, those that had experienced it, would never be the same again... especially that dude in the back that everyone is desperately trying to get away from before his chunks are blown.
Just a pic of the top without the figs.
Fourth Wall Commentary: I've been wanting to do a top for Yuri's contest for a while now. I had the basic idea but couldn't quite work out the balance issues. My problem was my center of gravity was too high. I lowered the whole thing and added some more weight to it and presto!
This top was made out of exactly 100 pieces (not counting the minifigs)
Thanks to Yuri for having this fun contest to make us all think outside the box! I won't promise that I can make another one before the end, but let's just say that if I can figure out the balance, I've got a GREAT idea for a halloween top... now all I have to do is figure it out. Till next time true believers!
Loved it a LEGO MOC with functionality and packed with fun as you watch the mini-figures slide off! Hey has anyone done a dreidle yet? When you get the chance you must stop by again a lot of new stuff and some lessons on how I made some of my stuff! You must see all the items in my Italian Feast!
Chris, thanks for the comment. It wasn't actually my group... but anyways i was asking when your new contest similar to the mocolympics was going to be? if you wouldn't mind replying on one of my mocs that would be grand. :)
Nice work, Chris. I think that the overall top is a little garbled in shape, but the colors on the side give for a great colorful view when it's spinning. Overall, this is one wild ride. Nice job with the faces, it's a great addition. -Dylan
You're sure busy lately. Funny. I too read the title and thought something different. I wonder if Thomas was thinking of Mr Toad's Wide Ride. Of course you'd be screaming if you had to hold on with only the strength of your butt cheeks. Talk about clutch power. see ya. garth
Beautiful! I like how you replaced the dudes face with a troll face indicating his soon to be regurgitated lunch. I imagine that must have taken a while to perfect the weight... Anyway, great MOC. And is it too late for me to join the Dark MOCOlympics?
Ya know, I saw in my activity box, "Chris has added a new creation: Mr. Phipson's Wild Ride" and thought something completley different. Well, the top is a great design, keep up the funny work, Chuckles Mcgee! ;) ~T
Weee!!! Should bring some much needed publicity for Yuri's contest (sorry if that sounds like a j-erkish thing to say, but it's true, people look up to you, Mr. Phipson... or something like that hahaha)
Very interesting. The shot with the dazed minifigs is great, although, I was expecting a toad. Now, add some of those orange trans studs and a blacklight and.....ok, I really need to quit playing with the blacklight. Great top!
