For round one in the moc-off against Soccer Ty. Enjoy!
About this creation
The 'Subordinate' class frigate is a medium-sized cruiser chiefly used to aide larger assault or command ships. While not particularly well-armed or manuverable, they are cheap to manufacture and are very effective at drawing enemy fire.
The forward bridge. The top bridge is visible in the background.
Profile view. I really like the shape of this ship, it's very sleek.
The engines. Gotta love the butt shot.
The ship's main weapon, a heavy twin plasma turret. Semi-effective against larger cruisers.
So why are these ships so great at drawing enemy fire? They don't have a very impressive variety of weapons, but they do have a spacious hangar bay with heavily armored doors. Sending one of these into the fight is like those old cartoons where someone would throw a beehive at their opponent. Yeah, not pretty.
Here's a closer look at the hangar.
Building a microship with 50 pieces or less is tough! putting all your ideas into the moc without sacrificing having a clean build is even harder. Ty, I tip my hat to you for making yours with only about forty pieces. Good luck!
