Compact Frame
Compact Frame is a micro size mech with a full range of motion.
About this creation
This is probably one of only a handful of ways that these few parts can be assembled to give this much articulation in such a tiny model - it's this reason that these are so interesting and challenging to build. I can't take credit for this design; it is inspired by another of zizy's advanced frame type micromecha, which reminded me of a mecha ninja. Is there anything cooler than ninjas or mecha? Only mecha ninjas!! w00t!

I'm sure quite a few people are also keen to know a few of the tricks, so check the Compact Frame gallery at Brickshelf for some disassembly and pics of the few critical parts you'll need plenty of in order to create your own.

I've got another mini mech in the lab (slightly larger than this) which I'll post in the next few days or so!

Here the Compact Frame is folded into a compact foetal position.

The Compact Frame activates and lifts its head...

   ..and surveys it's environment...

...before springing into a 'fight or flight' pose.

   Back of the Compact Frame.

   Left hand rear flank.

   Powersliding with arms outstretched.

Yes, it stands on one leg, provided the limbs are positioned to respect the COG. Ready for a kung-fu kick...

   HIYAAAAA!! Eat plastic!!

   Right hand rear flank.

A shot of the front side with arms apart to show the dual 2x1 handle plates...

... which are the secret to this little fellas incredible reach and arm articulation.

   Yeah baby!! Show me love!

I've had it with the silly captions - the narrator is going down...

The CF-01 tilts it's head foreward to take aim...

...while supporting the rifle on it's left arm.

Shot of the right leg in kneeling pose.

Other side of the kneeling pose.

Standing up. The rifle butt fits into nook of his arm, as it should. Nice.

A dynamic pose. Whatever that means.

   Armed and protected.

Other side, deflecting incoming lasers or Bionicle zamours(?)...

Hoorah! The Compact Frame rasies it's rifle and fires off a a couple of victory shots.

   Arm construction.

   Leg construction.

   Torso construction.

You'll need plenty of these in a range of colours.
