This is my entry for Brethrens of the Coasts first Pirate Lord contest. I had to rush this a bit due to other demands on my time, but it turned out well I think. This scene depicts a group of Baltic Pirates out of Gdansk raiding a Polish seaside village in search of plunder.
About this creation
A top view of the scene, we can see here that with only one guard left on the tower, this village’s fate is sealed.
This poor chap is out classed by one of the pirates.
Another shot of the guard about to be skewered.
Another pirate joins the attack and the lass in the tower does not look too pleased.
The pirate leader chases down a fleeing guard. Ahh, plunder.
This idea came to me from reading an excerpt of Juhan Kreem’s article “Living on the Edge: Pirates and the Livonians in the 15th and 16th Centuries.” Although my creation does not involve the Livonians, Mr. Kreem’s research gave me this idea and his article is well worth reading.
Hey great work Bones- this is what i meant- many would say that those look more like vikings than pirates -but well vikings actually were pirates- anyway very good moc. nice impressions and all (plus no non-realistic vikinghorns) this can make you to be "Lord of the Northern seas" and admin but let's wait what other entries there will be...if even Mark do something...
