Hub.ZX Spec2
The Spec2 iteration of Hub.ZX
About this creation
After showcasing Spec1 to the general public, ZX Industries was approached by the Japanese government. They had been researching into large-scale robotics themselves as part of a classified project and was hoping that ZX Industries would assist them. After much talk, ZX Industries went into contract with the Japanese government. As part of the contract, ZX Industries redesigned their magnum opus, creating the new and improved Hub.ZX Spec2.

Spec2 further improves the design of Spec1. First off, Hub's original armor alloy was replaced with a two-fold sturdier one and the armor itself increased in both size and thickness. Next, the leg thrusters were replace with more efficient and longer lasting ion thrusters. Then, Hub was given bigger, stronger hands for close-quarters combat and some prototype weapons so Hub can actually fight if ever necessary. Finally, Hub's old neural interface was replaced with the newer and fancier but quite experimental Neural Sympathy Drive. The NS Drive creates a better neural connection between pilot and machine and even further increases the scope of Hub's movement capabilities.

Hub strikes a pose with pilot Hikaru on his shoulder. This duo isn't just for show anymore.

Hub flexes its arm, showing off the improved forearms and larger shoulder armor.

One of Hub's improved ion thrusters. The warning label is more clearly visible on this model so hopefully there won't be any more minifig barbecue. Heavens forbid somebody important should ever get fried.

Hub's back remains relatively unchanged aside from the thrusters.

Hub's torso with the cockpit open. The cockpit itself is unchanged but the cockpit armor is much thicker.

A better shot showing off the thicker cockpit armor.

The Electromagnetic Double-Driver. Basically, a giant electromagnetic generator that can serve as one of two different weapons.

EM Double-Driver's Bolt Mode. The Bolt Mode acts like a rail gun, firing explosive bolts (the trans-red bits) at high velocities. Bolt Mode has an ammo capacity of 3 bolts (one on the barrel, two held on the side).
Creator's Notes
The Bolt Mode was based off the Bolting Driver from GaoGaiGar FINAL.

EM Double-Driver's Rifle Mode. Rifle Mode works like a standard high-intensity beam rifle. It does not use ammo and can fire as many shots as Hub has power remaining. The near-infinite energy output of Hub's Q-Burst system allows for this weapon to be feasible.

The EM Double-Driver fits comfortably onto the underside of Hub's left arm. Alternatively, it can be mounted on Hub's shoulder but that requires removing connector caps and other various manual modifications.

Hub's secondary weapon: the missile launcher.

The missile launcher fits comfortably under the right arm. It is an ambidextrous weapon that can be mounted on either arm or a shoulder.

Additionally, Hub can equip a forearm mounted holder for an extra missile.

DOUBLE HEAD DRIVER!!!! Err... Hub wielding both the Bolt Mode and the rocket launcher. A good policy for giant mecha weapons is "hit first and hit hard"

Hub's core pack. Basically, it contains the Q-Burst system and other bits and pieces necessary for Hub to function. It is stronger armored than the rest of Hub and can take more of a beating.

The core pack with the cover removed and the connector plug active. The trans-green bit is part of the Q-Burst. The connector plug is for simultaneously connecting Hub to an external computer and recharging its internal battery. Like a car, Hub's battery can and will eventually run dry so keeping it charged and being able to easily replace it is a must.

Hub's backside sans core pack. It's very.... greeble-less.

This is a fantastic redesign on an Exo Force model. Tasteful, and simple. Would you check out my Katana ARTCS?

I've checked out both the Katana series and AirWing Katana and absolutely love them. I keep trying to comment on them but MOCpages keeps eating my comments...
