The Type XI, developed by the ConVex company on Hondus, replaced the Twin-Shadow as the primary interceptor of the 18 DSF. Several variants, including an unarmed deep recon version have proved the versatility of these aircraft. Though strike capabilities have come up far short of expectations, keeping the Twin-Shadow prevalent still.
Even though I've already posted a MOC with these aircraft, I haven't said much about them.
About this creation
Built as an all-environment interceptor, the Minotaur is intensely rugged aircraft for its size and weight. It can be attached to a hyperspace engine externally for deep recon missions.
Specifications:
Classification: Star Interceptor
System of origin: 18th Deep Space Command (Tri-planet Coalition)
Combat weight: 7 tonnes
Length/width: 3.78 meters
Engine: One main articulated exhaust thruster.
Combat speed: 900-1500kph (latter velocity often attained during re-entry, or greater).
Number built: Original order of 1500 for fleet use, more on order as they become necessary.
Armament: Two 20mm railguns.
Range: 1 million kilometers (infinite if supported).
Crew: One driver
Varients: XI-B Insertion Probe Vessel.
This particular aircraft belongs to the First Flotilla, Second Wing leader. Invasion stripes decorate the wings. Historical note: I got the pattern from the P-38 Lightning D-Day scheme.
This aircraft integrates the essential belief that pilots are not expendable. Not only does it feature an ejection seat (for pilots that are properly suited), but also an innovative "Take me home device" that is activated by panic button for wounded pilots, or automatically if the pilot is incapacitated after ten seconds of non-input by the pilot, causing the onboard computer to take over and pilot the ship back to its carrier/base.
Wing leader next to his aircraft. Not bare arms, that's his uniform.

What a shape! Classic fighter mate. Really dig this one. |

its an alright starfighter but; if i were to make it, it would be less bulky to imply it was a dual role craft. making it more sleek and aerodynamic would make it look like it could be an atmospheric fighter too. this would make it a much more valuable asset to whatever faction it belongs to for its implied versatility.
